After over a year of planning we are left with a belly ache and a disappointing feeling. The manager Chanette Nielsen lacked communication and upon arriving with 62 guest for our 25th wedding celebration she had double booked a party of around 20-25 people upstairs to share the front lawn with our guests for the reception part. They had plenty of space to mingle but we and our Jazz band was cramped into the smallest piece of the lawn. During the dinner the staff lacked professional service, the children's menu was not served and when asked the staff did nothing to correct the mistake. The kids ate bread and potatoes that night. It was very apparent the kitchen was too busy due to having 2 parties at the same time. Several guests has afterwards told us they had to ask the staff for more wine when their glass was empty and more than once the waiter only poured for that guest, my brother had to go get a bottle and pour for the table. This is absolutely unacceptable for a place that prides themselves on service. I had to ask the staff to light the candles on the table, which was then done but I should not have to ask !! I had made a folder with instructions, food allergies, kids menu and seating chart for the manager to share with the staff to prevent any mistakes. Its deeply disappointing the manager was not able to pull this off. Lastly the restaurant was cramped with people due to the party upstairs , we had to share 3 bathrooms. Several of our guests noted a lady from the other party made a scene in the bathroom due to she had to wait in line, she proceeded to storm out and walk across the lawn and pull up her dress and relieve her self in front of our guests who was out on the balcony getting fresh air. My family has lived in Lyngby for over 50 years its with great sadness we had to experience such treatment and among our guests was very prominent Danish artists , members of the Danish press and CEO's of international financial institutions - a missed opportunity for Brede Spisehus to live up to...
Read moreAll the food we had was delicious which does not happen at this price point very often anymore. We had the chardonnay as well which was surprisingly good!
Love love love when you get complimentary freshly baked bread with whipped butter. Such a rarity, especially when the bread is THAT good.
Nothing better than going out and just being happy with everything you get, what a nice evening!
We’ll definitely be back in the summer for a meal outside in the sun ☀️
Only regret is that we didn’t try this...
Read moreA very special place in a positive matter. The surrounding is awesome. Close to lakes and forest. The service is kind and thoughtful. There is a nice atmosphere in the old building - it almost feels like going back in time when the place works as a eating place for the workers in the factories. The menu is small but delicious. Good wine menu as well. Only drawback is the distance from public transport unless you can use the local train from Lyngby station. I highly...
