Our first night back to Bahia resorts and decided to check out their newest restaurant. Nice clean and with a classy touch decore. Not overcrowded (although maybe because it was a thursday)
We were greeted with a big smile and promptly seated despite being 25 min early.
Shortly after being seated we were served a local drink which i didnt quite get the name of, but it had plantain as a decor and apparently vodka as one of the ingredient's… i dont drink and caught onto it right away. Wife loved it and had both - hers and mine.
You can order from their cocktails and wine menu (extra) or settle for house wine…
Menu itself was via qr code so make sure someone has a phone with them.
Wife had ceviche for appetizer and according to her it was to die for - i didnt get a taste as she swept it. Mine was three dishes with plantain - it was ok.
We skipped soups and went straight for main course - i had skirt steak - was very very pleasantly surprised - my past 7 trips to DR taught me not to expect much from local steaks - this was not the case. Tender. Not overcooked and not over-seasoned!
Wife had an octopus - i did get a taste of it - and it was awesome as well.
We skipped deserts but they did have some options.
Overall - very pleased. Didnt feel as i was in a third world country restaurant! Bahia is improving by leaps and bounds.
Make sure you utilize online check-in before arrival - you can do it up to 10 days before arrival and make your reservation- otherwise - you may not be so lucky and get a chance to dine...
Read moreService was amazing actually. This is the newest restaurant here along with the new Naan (same building) opened Dec 2023. The service in both was very good and both attentive. Hopefully it will continue and isn't just because they're new!!
Food was good... my steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Also the rice was great.
Soup was lush. I wasn't a fan of the plantain boat thing with beef.... it looked like a banana split 🤣 which I think put me off. I ate it but wasn't anything special. All I could think was banana.
All in all though a great little...
