The food was good, we got goat stew with fried yuka and seafood. I also had a mojito - it wasn't the tastiest and felt too much alcohol. Unfortunately, the whole impression was ruined when the bill arrived. In addition to the main course, they charged us for yuka separately. To our surprise that yuka is already listed in the name of the dish and should be included, the waiter confidently started to convince us that it was the price for goat stew only, and that yuka is paid on top. I'm sorry, but when I see the name goat stew with yuka on the menu for 850 pesos I expect to pay 850 for both. I don't expect to pay 850 for goat stew and another 250 for yuka. When I said I wouldn't pay for the yuka, the waiter left and then came back and politely apologized and gave me a new bill without the separate yuka. There were no problems here. But when I went to pay for the bill card on the terminal I was served by a girl who with a disgruntled look punched a new price, did not say a word to me, shoved me the terminal without even looking and gave the impression of offended. I recently had an amazing dining experience at Don Carlo and just had to share! The ambiance was cozy and inviting, setting the stage for a fantastic meal.
The lobster dish was a game-changer! Cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor, it was an absolute hit. And let's talk about the carpaccio—mouthwateringly good! Thinly sliced sea food done just right, with flavors that danced on my palate.
But what really stood out was the service, especially thanks to Luca! He's hands down the best waiter I've encountered. Super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and his recommendations were spot-on. Luca truly made our evening special.
If you're in the mood for delicious Italian cuisine and top-notch service, look no further than this place! Can't wait to go...
Read moreI should have taken pictures. Tonight was my last night in the Dominicus, Dominican Republic and I wanted to eat authentic Dominican food which is what Don Carlos Promotes. That had to be the worst experience ever anywhere. I ordered their “Bandera Dominicana” which consist of rice beans, and stewed chicken, with a side of mashed yuca.
1st. They didn’t have beans (which to an extent I kind of respected because it was kind of late.)
2nd bc. The chicken was ice cold. I told the waiter and he gladling took the plate back to heat it up. (When I say the chicken was ice cold, i not embellishing in anyway)
3rd. The Yuca Mash and a human hair in it. 🤮
4th. The manager, and or the owner was present and never did he attempt to approach our table to apologize.
I will never go there again. Don Carlos was a complete...
