I am used to ordering and eating with my family at Aldahan but at a different location. This time, I was visiting Nasr City and decided to order delivery for my family. We ordered a 1/2 kilo of three different dishes. Two of them weighed 1/4!! That includes the plate and the serving bread. I was stunned!! I called the restaurant, and I was told that it states "kilo," but it's per piece. What?! I am truly very disappointed. I specifically stated that we were 6 people. I asked if that would be enough for 6 people. I was asked to add soup to the order -__- I called, and after I was told that the orders were really measured by pieces, not by weight, he stated that he had informed management and that someone would contact me. Of course, no one did. I called back and insisted on speaking to a manager as we are now with 6 people with food that can only satisfy 3, I was informed a Mr. Sameh will call me in 10 mns. It has been over 30. I have not heard from anyone. For such a well-established restaurant, I am very disappointed that you decided to short your customers, then dismiss their complaints. It is unbecoming.
Mr. Sameh called 45 minutes later and stated: He will fix our order for the next time. Had we called and informed him of the error at the time, he would have fixed it.
I made it clear that I called at the time twice and I was informed that I would be receiving a call 10 mns later, not 45, so if he was made aware of the complaint then, again, his employees are poorly trained. To expect customers to wait hungrily for an hour or so for food to be fixed due to the restaurant's poor performance is ridiculous. He wanted us to send the food back so he could "fix it." I have no idea what on earth that does that even mean?!
Bottom line: I truly regret ordering from location. We paid a subtraintial amount for very little food, and we are still hungry and are about to order more. This is what an absolute waste of...
Read moreBefore heading to Egypt to spend Spring break, I asked many people who had been there if they could recommend an authentic Egyptian restaurant where we could try local Egyptian dishes. The name El-Dahan of Hassan El-Mamoun St., Nasr City, came up often. We called ahead and booked a table for a party of 13. We ordered cow feet soup, creamy chicken soup, and of course the most popular soupy greeny dish of Molokhiya for an appetizer. Our group is accustomed to Middle Eastern cuisine. Within few minutes we all agreed this El-Dahan Restaurant of Hasan El-Mamoun St, is by far one of the best authentic Egyptian/Middle Eastern restaurants in Cairo. Grilled beef liver, lamb shanks, veal shanks, tender lamb kebabs and Kofta are just few dishes that will awaken your taste buds to joyously dance!
Staff is absolutely friendly and at hand to assist in case you need any help. A young fellow with a name tag of Hady Salah was ushering and directing waiters and staff to attend to tables that may need help. The restaurant was full, not a single table was empty. However, everything was smoothly and quietly moving like bees hive! In short, if you are looking for excellent and authentic Egyptian food, very clean spot with a genuine staff, check out El-Dahan Restaurant of Hassan El-Mamoun St, Nasr City, Cairo. I reccomend El-Dahan for authentic Egyptian food and I will definitely stop by on...
