JAM Lounge — Restaurant in Cairo

Update: They’ve contacted me later that day to apologize and ask us to go for another time to fix what happened. And although we couldn’t go again, we still appreciate this gesture from JAM Lounge. Thank you for actually taking our complaints into consideration.

Such a big disappointment. It wasn’t our first time there but this time everything was off. For starters, we went during eid vacation and they didn’t have the regular menu as they were still working with Ramadan’s menu so we had to adjust our breakfast order according to the ingredients. We ordered stuffed tomatoes which were really nice. Fries were also nice.

We had club sandwich but due to lack of ingredients we were informed that it will be a regular sandwich. The bread wasn’t even toasted and it came without the usual salad. When we asked for it, they just cut some tomatoes and cucumber on a plate for us.

As for the omelettes, we ordered 3 ones. 2 spanish omelettes and one with pastrami but there wasn’t any. It came without the usual bread and when we asked for it, they offered “baladi” bread that wasn’t even fresh. It used to be served before with a different kind of bread.

The waiters were decent and it’s not their fault nor the chef’s fault by any means but there wasn’t even an owner or a manager there to discuss this with. So we ended up paying for a breakfast that wasn’t as expected and that we didn’t enjoy and I don’t think...

This place is in soft opening and they’re doing so well so far. The staff is well trained and is very hospitable. The area is cozy with plenty of warm lighting. It overlooks Mokkatam entrance main road if you’ve drove past Salah Salem. The view is beautiful but a bit chilly in winter so bring an extra layer of clothing if you’re planning to sit outside. The indoor area is pretty good too with plenty of space and room between tables. The bathrooms are well maintained and taken care of. The food is amazing, specially, the sandwiches as they make their own buns. It tasted really fresh and delicious. The Chicken Pane on the other hand had too much chewy breading and a very thin layer of chicken. This feedback was passed to waiter and they said they will work on it. Will have to wait and see but overall the place is really great. Works well for dates, outing or a party but of course you’ll have to make a reservation and make a down payment beforehand. No minimum charge though. Looking forward for...

I went with two of my friends to have dinner, the waiter basically kicked us out because we entered with our own water bottle.

We told him that we will buy water from the place and we'll keep ours with us on the table and he still refused....

Very disappointing response from the owners, especially since the global health standards for restaurants (HACCP & ISO22000) do not prohibit customers from entering with outside food and beverages.

On a side note, before leaving we explicitly asked the waiter if he's going to kick out three people coming to have dinner because of a water bottle.
