I'm sorry but the staff AND management of ((Sky rim)) is the worst we've ever experienced. They STOLE money from us. Let me explain.
We're a group who've been to their fair share of restaurants in Egypt and abroad, and never in our lives had we seen a restaurant culture this awful. The wait staff and managers treated us with unwarranted rudeness and utter disrespect. They don't understand the basics of dealing with customers, so it becomes a "Baltaga and Nasb" culture.
We went to Sky Rim to celebrate a couple who had just got engaged (important later).
• There is a minimum charge you pay upon entering - Not a problem.
• One of us (Person A) wasn't in the mood to eat much so he decided to treat 2 others (Person B& C) to a couple of items so they ordered them from the waiter.
• Every 15 min a waiter would come to [B&C].."you've exceeded the minimum, pay the excess now!"
• We told them we hadn't finished eating yet. Let us finish and we'll discuss this with you. They would still come every 15 min to nag us to pay.
• When we explained the situation to the waiter, he told us "No, [A] didn't ask me for those items, it was [B&C] ! Ento keda msh 3ayzin tedfa3o!" And he brought the manager and the exact same thing was said all over again.
"Ya3ni eh?"
="ya3ni kol wahed leeh minimum lewa7do"
[A]: "yafandem ana eli 3azemhom 3al 7aga di mn floosy enta eh moshkeltak ana 7orr adfa3 bel minimum bta3i eli ana 3ayzo"
="El policy bta3etna if they exceed with their orders they pay"
"tb mana ba2olak it's MY order!"
=" La2 they're the ones who ordered and they should pay"
All of this was said with extreme condescending tones from both the waiter and the managers, as if we're trying not to pay for the things we ordered. Even though we repeatedly explained we're well within the money we paid at the door, it's absolutely within our right to do this. He would get the total price he wanted keda keda and it didn't matter who paid, But they wanted to unlawfully take even more money.
Conclusion: they want [A] to leave without using a big portion of the money he had already paid, and [B&C] to pay money in addition to the minimum charge they had already paid. (This is the first "Nasb" attempt)
Anyways after a lot of negotiations, 1 item from [B&C] was billed to [A]'s cheque, and [B&C] agreed to pay for the other item as an excess to the minimum charge. AND THEY DID PAY.
The big surprise? After most of us left, the manager went to the bride and groom, and told them that [B&C] had refused to pay and the couple needed to pay that amount of money (the portion they billed to [A]'s cheque+ the portion [B&C] paid after the negotiations)!!!!!!! The couple were unaware of all the arguments so they paid!
I want to make It very clear, this is STEALING money from your customers!
Shame on the owners of this place for employing such a rude, disrespectful and thieving staff. Shame on the owners for implementing such a toxic culture in this place. We were being talked to as if we were beggars!
This is not something you'd expect from an establishment that claims that "Perfection would intervene with our senses", according to their insta page. What did intervene with our senses, was rudeness, condescending tones and looks, and outright Robbery.
Avoid this place...
Read moreOkay Here you go.. an honest and detailed review..
I wish you may take it into real consideration!
The place is amazing… Vibe, decor, view… v nice location! The tables were apart enough to have good personal space..
The music was fun, great dj “ dj teddy I think” also Mostafa Shawky added fun vibe! He was humble with everyone and sang a great collection.. Was interactive as well with everyone.
However, your service is horrible!!! Sorry guys for this but unbelievable service for ur name!
I appreciate that it was Easter and there was a ton of work pressure, but honestly that’s not even an excuse for what happened 😅
We were a big group (15 pax), arrived at ~ 10 pm Till 11:30!! Asking the waiters “several times” to order and they keep on repeating (just a minute), ( ohh yeah will get you someone to take the order) And actually forgetting about us😅 Unbelievable.. they kept on passing by for more than an hr! Without returning back to us!
… however At the end we ordered… Till 1:00 AM! No food😅
Nothing on the table! For another an hr and a half! Not even appetisers, as a small decent apology for ur delay…
3-4 ppl of our grp had to leave then! Without even eating anything!! Never seen any service like that before!
Then finally😅the food was served… around 1 am! SUPER COLD!😅 Wrong orders! We all ordered side dishes ( Sauté vegetables and Rice) All the plates were either Fries only!😅 or Fries and Rice!!😅
We had to call for the manager and he told us that you ran out of vegetables ! He didn’t even apologize and informed us with that before serving the food!!
He just informed us with this piece of information after complaining!
Funny though, at the same moment while informing us that vegetables ran out, the table next to us was served with large amounts of Sauté vegetables around 7 plates.. and one of our grp asked the waiter what is that! And they didn’t reply him back, just looked back at him as if we don’t have the right to ask😅 Absolute lying and terrible service....
We returned all of our food and asked at least for hot dishes! … Then they reserved somehow acceptable dishes.. however a boneless grilled chicken was served with bones…
After eating we asked for the preordered dessert (Konafa)..
I think no surprise that we were informed that the konafa ran out of stock.. Then we asked for redbull or something at least to drink😅…
… “ You closed ur check already, no remaining credit to add anything…your table already ordered 7 redbull and 2-3 water bottles “ he said and that wasn’t true! We only ordered 4 redbull! And 2-3 water bottles & we were having remaining credit! Anyway after negotiating they have us 1 redbull, 2 orange juices and surprisingly! One KONAFA!😅 Didn’t ran out of stock actually😅….
It’s very unprofessional to take full payment before our arrival to ensure your money were received and then let ur customers go to hell with their needs as long as u took what u need 😅 And the funny part is that u only informed us that the payment is Non Refundable “in bold font” after sending u the screenshot of the payment… I’m wondering what is ur excuse/ reply for all of those unprofessional manners actually..
That’s it.. Sorry for the...
Read moreI am writing this review to share my recent experience at Sky Rim in Al Mokattam St, where my wife and I decided to spend our New Year's Eve. This review is more about the people we dealt with rather than the place itself.
I reside overseas, so I started by contacting the venue via WhatsApp to get details about the New Year's Eve program. I was informed by Mr. Mostafa that the platinum ticket, costing 4000 Egyptian pounds per person, would provide us with a table close to the stage. I also expressed my interest in securing a VIP table, but was told that the price was yet to be decided.
I paid for the tickets upfront, agreeing to share a table with other guests. Mr. Mostafa assured me that each guest would receive individual appetizer plates. A day before the event, I called to confirm our reservation. Mr. Mostafa informed me that he had arranged a separate table for our group, which raised my suspicions.
Upon arrival at Sky Rim, I was taken aback by the stunning view of the city. However, my excitement was short-lived when I saw our table was far from the stage, obstructed by a column. I immediately approached Mr. Mostafa, who then spoke to his superior, falsely claiming that I had requested a change from a shared table to a separate one and was now asking to revert.
I clarified that this was not the case and reiterated my original request for a VIP table. I was willing to pay an additional 2000 Egyptian pounds per person, but was told that they were sold out. This misinformation and dishonesty from the staff ruined our night, which I had hoped would be a special one for my wife and me. Also when we waited to get the appetizers I found out it was sharing not individually served as Mr. Mostafa claimed.
The most disappointing aspect was the lack of transparency and honesty from the staff, particularly Mr. Mostafa. His miscommunication and false claims not only led to a less than satisfactory seating arrangement but also cast a shadow over our entire evening.
The venue itself is impressive, offering breathtaking views of the city. However, the staff's behavior significantly impacted our overall experience. It's unfortunate that a night we had been looking forward to for so long was marred by such an unpleasant encounter.
In conclusion, while Sky Rim may be a great venue with a fantastic view, our experience was negatively affected by the lack of professionalism and honesty from the staff. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration and that future guests do not have to experience the same disappointment we did.
