Il Pomodoro Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Red Sea

This is the worst restaurant experience in many years. We were four people, We ordered Bruscetta as a starter but got crusts with a tasteless tomato mixture.

For main course two of us ordered pizza one ordered meat and one ordered pasta.

The meat and pasta came first, we waited for the pizza but it came when the other two had already finished.

The pizza was a disaster, totally tasteless Frutti de Mare with three pieces of shrimp, a frozen pizza from the store is much better.

The staff apologized and said that there was some technical error that caused the delay with the pizza. It would have been easy to wait with the other dishes instead of serving 15 minutes before the pizzas were ready.

The restaurant manager wanted to blame everything on the technical problem.

We cannot recommend...

Fairly certain that this place and the mexican only exist to upsell you wine or spirits. The food is bland, my wife's bruschetta was pretty awful. To be fair, my seafood soup was quite nice. Pizza was quite poor, seemed they cooked it under a grill rather than in a pizza oven. A white base and browned cheese. The mother in-law enjoyed her pasta at least.

I think this place caters for people with kids that want a change from the buffet, but I'm annoyed as I missed out on BBQ night for this...

The staff are amazingly helpful, and wanted to swap anything out that we didn't like. But I had no faith that anything would be good and after the experience in the other restaurant on site, I really couldn't be bothered

Eines der beiden Spezialitäten Restaurants vom Tropitel. Ähnlich wie im mexikanischen Spezialitätenrestaurant wird zu Beginn ein kostenpflichtiger Wein angeboten, hier jedoch mit etwas mehr Hektik. Erst wenn alle sitzen und jedem Tisch der Wein angeboten wurde werden die Getränke aufgenommen. Es fehlte mindestens ein Mitarbeiter, es kam uns alles sehr hektisch vor. Die Pizza hatten wir mittags schon versucht, leider ähnlich einer Tiefkühlpizza trotz Pizzaofen. Zu Beginn wurden Körbe und Teller mit Brot auf den Tisch gestellt, leider Semmeln und Brot vom Buffet. Ein gutes Pizzabrot wäre 1000 mal besser gewesen. Als Beilage ein kleines Stück Butter (ebenfalls vom Buffet), ein kleiner Haufen Frischkäse und Senf. Bruschetta leider wieder auf dem total trockenem Baguette vom Hotel. Und dann noch kalt. Bei einem Pizzaofen bekommt man doch super ein frisches Baguette hin oder Bruschetta auf Pizzateig...so war das leider nichts. 3 verschiedene Pasta Gerichte, fettucini al fredo wären gut gewesen, aber es gibt keine fettucini, nur Spaghetti und Penne, die es täglich auch am Buffet gibt. Kann man in einem Spezialitäten Restaurant doch wohl 3 verschiedene Pasta Sorten erwarten... Nachtisch würde bei mir vergessen, auf Nachfrage dann gebracht, 3 kugeln Eis leicht geschmolzen und sehr lieblos abgerichtet. Italiener? Tiramisu? Panna Cotta? Gibt es auch fertig zu kaufen, würde ich aber morgens täglich frisch machen...mit gutem italienischem Essen hatte das leider gar nichts zu tun. Könnte man ganz leicht tolles Essen servieren...will aber anscheinend keiner oder sie können es einfach nicht besser. Und eine Kerze auf dem Tisch gehört eigentlich...
