I am not one to usually write reviews but it would be wrong for me not to leave one for Pupuseria la Purrushka
I had a few days in San Salvador and wanted to try some authentic Salvadoran pupusas. I was recommended this restaurant online and decided to give it a try. My spanish isn't great but we were able to communicate fine, one of the owners spoke english and her father understood enough too, otherwise google translate always works!
They greeted me with enthusiasm and explained to me the menu. I asked them how mamy pupusas are enough for one person they said 2 or 3. I asked them to surprise me with which pupusas to order. They brought me 3 pupusas. They checked on me a few times to see how I was doing and then later brought me another pupusa that they wanted me to try. It was obvious they cared about their food and wanted to give me the best experience. The pupusas themselves were fantastic, all of them. I've had Honduran pupusas before and had more pupusas in El Salvador after going here. These were the best by far.
They asked me about myself and my trip, showed me kindness I dont usually expect as a foreigner. They treated me like one of their own. A few locals came in while I was there and they were all greeted like old friends.
Maybe not the kind of place if you're expecting a fancy dinner but for an authentic Salvadoran experience, I dont know how this could be beat. Walk in with a smile and they'll...

I have been visiting my grandma in El Salvador for the last 30+ years, so I’ve had my share of pupusas throughout the years but these pupusas are by far the best I’ve ever had! They were so good that I ordered 55 pupusas to bring back to the states to give to family and friends.
We can’t...
