Sitar is situated in Korotogo about 10 minutes by car from Sigatoka Town. Situated on the main highway from Sigatoka to Pacific Harbour it is located close to many Coral Coast resorts. There is a good selection of affordably priced cuisine options with plenty of indoor and outdoor terrace options. The location is breezy but keep in mind you are right next to the main highway so it's traffic between you and unobstructed ocean views. Service like most locally run food places can best be described as warm and friendly once you have their attention, generally slow and inconsistent when it comes to attentive service and food arriving to the table. This in itself is part of the charm of Fiji time, the food is delicious and good value for money. With food choices for vegan and vegetarians often sparse Sitar offers a wide range of options across all cuisine which is refreshing. They have a bar with fairly priced drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and they accept card and cash. I would recommend for family, friend or work groups who want a pleasant atmosphere, aren't in a hurry and want somewhere that is likely to have something that everyone can enjoy without breaking the bank. I would highly recommend checking out their menu online as it has pictures and prices especially if you get overwhelmed with having too many choices. If they invested a little more in consistent attentive service they...
Read moreThis restaurant could easily get 5 stars on the review but for the poor food, non attentive staff and meaningless nodding by the managers on duty made our dining experience something to forget.
We requested our dine in food order to be "extra hot". Having a feeling that the waitress may not get it right - I walked to the manager and requested him to ensure the food was prepared really hot and spicy.
However, when the food was served - it was anything but hot and spicy. And to cap it all the curry was watery and flowed around in our plates the moment we served ourselves.
The taste was mediocre and certainly nothing to rave about.
The Masala Tea we ordered after the meal was not even tea. It was just flavored hot milk. I would like to add that when we complained - they did not charge for the Masala Tea.
My point here is that callousness has no place in the hospitality sector and more so in the Food and Beverages section of the sector. Our experience could have been so different if the staff and management of the restaurant been diligent and up to the task.
The restaurant fared well on the ambiance front as the outdoor seating and the bar area made for a pleasant evening as the sun set over the horizon overlooking the South...
Read moreI would like to preface this review by saying our server was lovely and tried to rectify the situation when she realised the dilemma.
Very disappointed in the service offered to us today at Sitar.
We arrived, were seated and ordered our food by 1920hrs. By 2015hrs 4 other tables had been seated after us and received their food - blatantly receiving favourable service and receiving their main meals whilst we had been waiting now almost an hour with only a few appetisers served. When we broached our server she had informed us that the kitchen had “forgotten” our table of NINE seated right in front of the kitchen. When we finally were served not only were some of our dishes missing and therefore brought out much later after we all had almost eaten - some were missed completely. Additionally we were informed some of our meals would not be served in the original form because they were no more dishes only for another server to walk past us with said dish. Consequently our food tasted like the service, an afterthought.
Again our server was so swift in serving us however, it was quite obvious we were being missed. If I could give you a zero I would, but that is not possible, so I...
