Black Coral Restaurant — Restaurant in Western

Had 3 great meals here during my stay at Plantation. Eye fillet was the tastiest meal I can remember eating! The Fish curry was great and so was the seafood platter. The only mar on the experience was getting charged an extra FJ$25 per premium meal on top of the advertised FJ$15 char grill (premium meal) surcharge. When you have already prepaid (full board) your meals, and that pre payment basically allows FJ$60 for a main it's a bit on the nose. So a FJ$ 68-75 meal cost me FJ$100! DO NOT get full board (pre paid meals) for your Fiji trip, It's an actual scam to make you spend more on food. The only way you would save money doing it is if you ate from the buffet every night and then you would save a couple of dollars per person per day... As soon as you eat at one of the A La Carte restaurants you will save money with PAYG...

This place was awful. It took 2 hours for us to get our food. There was almost nobody in the restaurant but we were told to wait for our table. Luckily we saw our friends there already and went to join them. They had already been waiting already for 2 hours for their food (6pm reservation while ours was 8pm). It would have been 3 hours total for them to have their food and leave. The food portions were small and very expensive. The staff were very lovely, its just unfortunate the service was very delayed and not living up to the price. The kitchen supposedly closes at 9pm so I don’t understand why it would take so long...

We had dinner with friends and all our kids for our last night at PIR. The food was absolutely amazing and couldn’t fault it - best restaurant meal we’ve had in a long time! The service was excellent. Took the kids ice cream sundaes a while to come out, but apart from that, no complaints. Would definitely recommend!
