The Mala Mala Beach Club is a brilliant, well organised and run day tour and I highly recommend it. Starting with an on-time pick up from our hotel we were transported to Port Denarau Marina with plenty of time to spare and check in. We boarded the transport boat which had a very comfortable captain's quarters with very plush comfortable couches and air conditioning with a bar available to purchase drinks. It only took between 25-30 minutes to arrive at Mala Mala Island and that view from the long jetty that connected to the island was another Instagram worthy picture.
The whole beach club is very well organised and run so as soon as we stepped off the boat we were directed towards the island where people who had pre-booked a cabana were ushered to the left and those that had booked daybeds or had not arranged anything were ushered to the right of the island to check in. I highly recommend to pre-book a cabana because these go very quickly and it is so nice to have your own private cabana with comfortable day beds, a secure locker and butler service. Our butler John was wonderful and guided us through the cabana features, took our orders and delivered our food and drinks promptly or staggered as we requested.
The food and drink menu is extensive, well priced and of a very high quality. We ordered sliders, the fisherman's basket, yellow fin tuna poke bowl, chocolate brownie, and a range of drinks from fresh coconuts, to very strong cocktails, slushies, and of course Fiji water. The personal service and attention to detail really stood out, such as the Fiji water being brought in a cooler bag filled with ice and two glasses to ensure that everything was always ice cold.
There are a large variety of activities on offer at Mala Mala club. There is an Infinity Pool that looks out over the ocean, a restaurant/bar area where you can order and consume food and drinks, plenty of deck chairs, day beds, etc. There is a watersports area where you can use snorkeling equipment, stand up [addle boards, one and two seater kayaks for free and the equipment is all in top shape. There are hammocks strung out under wonderful leafy, well shaded trees, excellent toilet and shower facilities (with good water pressure), a souvenir shop, and of course that long jetty where you must simply do the Jetty Jump off the end into the water which is 4-5 metres deep. There are plenty of fish to see when you snorkel to the right of the jetty.
In the main areas the club plays a pumping, eclectic music selection all day which really brings on that island club vibe and you feel very special being there. We spent a good 5-6 hours at Mala Mala before we made our way back to Port Denarau.
Upon our arrival back at Port Denarau we had return transfers back to our hotels so it really was a wonderful experience with everything taken care of end-to-end. Mala Mala also has this deal where you can come back to Mala Mala again for FJD$79 (or $99 if you are on the Coral Coast) which is an excellent excellent offer.
Thank you once again to the Mala Mala Beach Club team for a wonderful, memorable experience that is easily one of my fondest from all of the times that I have been to...

What an amazing experience at Malamala Beach Club! Loved & thoroughly enjoyed all the time spent here at Malamala Beach Club.
I did the Malamala Beach Club booking with South Sea Cruises. For Malamala Beach Club - Full Day Pass- Transfers from Nadi and Port Denarau are included; however recently South Sea Cruises have made some changes for pick-up locations so don’t rely on the pdf you get in the email, after the booking. Cruise departed at 10 and I reached at Port Denarau at around 9:15am to collect boarding pass. Expect long queues and reach at-least 30-45 mins before cruise departing time. Cruise was completely packed. Reached Malamala Beach Club in 30-40 mins. Unlike South Sea Island where there is no jetty, and from cruise you need to get into smaller boats, Malamala Beach Club has Jetty, meaning, no smaller boats transfers needed. Free unlimited Wifi and towels provided at club. They take your Credit Card and give you a plastic card with number written on it. Whenever you order any food, staff see the number, write your order, take your signature and order is delivered. Before leaving Club, you would clear your dues either by Cash or by Card (expect to pay 3% or so surcharge on the card if it’s AU or NZ or any other international Visa / Mastercard) There were paid Cabanas available for 80 FJD. Fresh coconuts available for 10 FJD and lots of food, drinks options available including Vegetarian options. All non motored equipment’s were available for free including Paddle Boarding or stand-up paddling, Kayak, Snorkelling gear. You can enjoy swimming or just relax and enjoy the music, eat food, go kayaking or paddle boarding or snorkelling, in short there is plenty of things to do and keep everyone busy.
A big shout out to Mario and Vinni - Staff who took us on guided Snorkelling tour free of cost and they were super friendly, lovely and very helpful.
At around 5:15 it was time to say goodbye. South sea cruise came to pick up passengers. Now, the best part, as the cruise was departing, staff at Malamala Beach Club came to the Jetty to say passengers Good bye and kept waving hands till you could see them. All in all, a great day spent and worth all the money spending.
In case you don’t wish to take up free transfers and chose to travel by cab then I have locals tip-
In Fiji, always go by metered cab. LH (number plate starts with LH XXX) cabs charges are higher. So, catch a normal cab. Ask local to call on 2000 or 6000 to arrange for a metered cab. Meter starts with 1.5FJD & after 10pm, it would start with 2FJD.
