A Historic Gem with Modern Charm

Puotila Manor (Puotilan kartano), dating back to the 1540s, began as a cluster of peasant farms before becoming a unified estate in the 1750s. Once a thriving agricultural hub and birthplace of Admiral Carl Olof Cronstedt, it hosted luminaries like statesman Leo Mechelin and philosopher J.V. Snellman.

Today, the manor blends history with contemporary flair. After a meticulous 2014 renovation, it now houses a restaurant serving à la carte dishes and weekend brunch, alongside hosting weddings and cultural events in its iconic 19th-century granary-turned-chapel. The estate’s lime tree avenue and park-like grounds add to its serene vibe, while Disco Club Svenkka (now a live-music pub) nods to its quirky 1960s revival.

A perfect mix of heritage and hospitality, ideal for history buffs, foodies, and...

We went to the Halloween lights, however it was a little different than last year. Last year there was an entrance before seeing the lights and you could also buy a balloon without buying a ticket to see the whole thing. but this year they put the entrance inside and the balloon buying inside. We paid 34€ to get in and on top of that a little over 26€ for balloons. It just felt too much. Last year we spent money only for the balloons and got to see the preview of the Halloween lights and that was enough for our 2 and 3 year old. But this year I was really disappointed… I would have at least got to buy the balloons for cheaper because it was anyways only available for the people who already bought tickets. Just for lights nearly 60€? No thank you. I will not be coming...

The food was nice and the staff was kind when they were serving you, but actually getting service took ages. We had a reservation at 5pm, the waitress came to our table at 5.20pm. We got our entrees an hour after that. This kept happening between each meal. There was also a fair bit of confusion regarding my special diet despite my having sent detailed information about my allergies well in advance and having received a confirmation from the restaurant that they could make something for me.

Still, the restaurant and the surrounding area is really lovely and the staff tried their...
