I had different impressions from visiting this restaurant.
Let's start with the location of this restaurant. If you are visiting this establishment for the first time, then most likely you will not find it right away. We had to spend about 15 minutes to find this place. THIS RESTAURANT IS LOCATED ON THE SECOND FLOOR. IF YOU LOOK AT THE BUILDING, IT IS ON THE LEFT SIDE.
When we were in this restaurant, the waiter who worked that day spoke ONLY ENGLISH. This was not a problem for us, but it seemed strange to us. It was difficult to choose a dish. Since it is not clear what kind of dish it is. If only the menu had pictures. I think it would be clearer to many people what to order. And for non-English speakers, it's easier to order. The waiter was confused about who to pay for what. Who ordered what dishes? It was quite unprofessional.
Special THANKS TO THE COOK. All ordered dishes were prepared amazingly tasty. All products are fresh. RESPECT...
Read moreMy first visit to Rioni Espoo was yesterday together with my friend. We wanted to get new experiences as we had never eaten Georgian food before. The concept is nice, you can order what you wish and you can share everything with the persons you're enjoying the dinner. We were very much pleased with the service: we were told about the menu, we got recommendations, we were very well served in polite way. But what comes to the food - stunning! So much flavour, very tasty, very good! We will definitely come :) I sure can recommend bred with cheese inside "smaller bred" (maybe ADJARULI KHACHAPURI) and stew SHKHMERULI! I also like sweet drinks, and I had a Georgian pear soft drink, which was sooo good. The place was quiet, maybe because it was a Wednesday. The place was clean and not too fancy. Please keep up with the good quality of the food and service. This kind of places are very much...
Read moreGeorgian food is not too difficult to find in Helsinki, and from my own experiences, it is all at least decent.
Rioni is a very good option for great authentic flavors. It is a small chain with a few locations in Finland, and we've eaten in several of them, and have always loved the food. This time around was the first time we tried the Nigvziani badrijani (eggplant rolls stuffed with walnuts and garlic), and immediately we looked up a recipe and are now determined to make some back home.
While the location in Turku tries to emulate a casual Georgian atmosphere with throw pillows and moody lighting, the Espoo location is an urban restaurant all the way. Pricing is on par with other sit-down restaurants, but with the quality and flavors of the food, I'd recommend Rioni over others any day...
