Tl;dr: you won't find a better fish and chips in Finland. Probably anywhere. I'd read a few reviews and thought the food was going to be good. Yet I was surprised by *how* good it was. The fish and "chips" (lightly roasted boiled potatos? Delicious at any rate) were as good as any premium fish and chips I had during my six years in London. Better than the vast majority; top class. Some nifty interpretations too like fennel and the above mentioned potatoes. My partner had the tofu skewer. Oh my god. How good was that. So often vegetarian dishes end up an afterthought, especially when you venture outside Helsinki. This one felt like it had been given even more thought than the fish and chips. Lots of protein for once. Really interesting flavors, proper spicy without being very hot. Every bit - the lentils, the skewer, the dressing etc. - was so well thought out. Yes, the place is a bit pricier than you'd expect for e.g. fish and chips. But it's easily worth every penny.

Finally had time to eat at Veitsitehdas and it was a bliss! Fish & chips were crunchy and delicious, and the home baked archipelago bread with smoked lake fish butter was 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. And I love sitting in the wonderful riverside terrace, just enjoying the slow river flow, watching ducks and listening birds! 👌🌳❤️

Apparently, even the ladybugs like the beer so much here that they decided to colour match?!?

Tap room meets fine dining, well, atleast if you look at prices. Beers are great, but the food really is not up to meet the pricing. Shortcuts have been taken, and you can taste the fridge and freezer ingredients in the foods. Instead of fresh local produce that should be plentiful in July. They'll get you fed, but quality really does not...
