What a disappointing meal and service in the prettiest of settings. We wondered if it was because we had lunch here on a MONDAY that explained the poor quality, but surely could not justify it. The menu du jour had no choice, just one of each entrée/plat/dessert at 18 Euros for two dishes (the entrée was no longer available and when asked what the cost would be for 3 courses we were told that we could have any dessert from the carte but most were at 9 Euros !!). The bière blonde came in the form of a large tin of Leffe even though there was actually a choice of beers (not offered). Those are details compared to the very poor quality of the food, starter was just partly warm, the rest cold out of the fridge (poorly heated up), the main dish looked a mess, didn’t look fresh, fish had a soggy tasteless crust and the satay cauliflower was limp and obviously reheated with no trace of satay - the whole dish quite insipid. When I complained to the aloof waiter about the cold starter (tarte tatin with soggy bread base) he seemed shocked and obviously did not believe us. When he later asked how our main dish was to which we replied not good, the young chef Stephanie came to see us and said she would do better next time (no next time for us!). The least the shameful pair could have done is offer us the coffees (at 3 Euros each!). A waste of money, can’t believe all the good reviews, I guess we had an...
Read moreA fantastic meal, in a beautiful setting. Attention to detail with the menu, food, drinks and the surrounds. We had mignon de porc and choux farci de boef et porc, both were delicious. Starters of foccacia with fresh figs and cheese, Tarte à l'oignon. Desserts of Tarte aux marrons et prunes and homemade pistachio and apricot ice cream with lots of extra bits too! Great value for the quality of the imaginative menu, beautifully presented and delicious food all in a beautiful setting. 😊 (Price quoted included...
