Great Atmosphere, Subpar Dining Experience" My experience at Gaudina Restaurant was a mixed bag of delightful highs and disappointing lows. I'm writing this review to share both sides of my experience.
Starting with the positives, the live concert with French music was an absolute delight. The musicians were talented, creating a charming atmosphere that perfectly complemented the aesthetic of the restaurant. The good vibes from the music and the overall atmosphere were high points of our evening. It's clear that Gaudina knows how to create an ambiance.
Unfortunately, the dining experience did not match the same standard. The main issue was the poorly cooked pork, which we had to send back twice due to undercooking. This was surprising, especially for a restaurant that presents itself as a high-end dining establishment.
The service was another disappointment. We had to wait 20 minutes before our used plates were cleared from the table, making us feel overlooked and neglected.
The menu, albeit well-curated, was limited in choice. With only four main dishes to choose from, it felt restrictive and not very accommodating for a diverse range of palates.
Lastly, after the series of mishaps, Gaudina offered us a simple digestive. While it was a nice gesture, it felt insufficient in making up for the previous shortcomings.
In conclusion, Gaudina Restaurant excels in offering a great atmosphere with wonderful live music, but sadly falls short in its culinary and service departments. They have potential and I hope they work on improving these aspects. Until then, I would advise potential patrons to weigh the atmosphere against the dining experience before making a decision. For now, it's a place more for your ears than for...
Read moreAtmosphere and decor are nice, however it seems they lack attention to the small details that makes all the difference - both our table and the salt & paper waters were sticky to touch and felt not clean (must say they were clean, but the feeling was as not). The chairs are too low to sit compared to the tables’ height. When it comes to the food, it was good. For main course, we had the pork and the lamb. Both were excellent. Really good. However, also with the food, lack of attention to the small details was evident- here in the kids menu - it felt as if the French fries servings were taken from the last bits and pieces of the bowel. They were tiny and burnt. More like “fries crumbs” (see image). The bread was not at its best (some pieces were dry) and last but not least the deserts were mediocre at best - we had the figs that were simple and ok-ish, and again, the kids chocolate cake was too dense to eat. Bottom line -attention to details. This is where...
