We found this place by accident when our plans to dine in downtown Aix fell through. We were going to visit the Les Milles memorial down the street, and wanted to eat first. It had great reviews but being from California, it’s kind of a funky location. We pulled up and from the street, it doesn’t look like much. I’m so glad we went inside, the open patio overlooks the airstrip where you can watch small planes take off.
It’s definitely a locals spot and many of the patrons were chatting up the owners like they were old friends. I don’t speak French, but try my best. The owners and wait staff were all super friendly and I didn’t once feel out of place among the locals. By the end of our visit I was chatting with the owner about wine and our home town, and she told me her husband goes to market twice per day to make sure everything is fresh.
The food was incredible. Burrata, charcuterie, salad, steak, everything. And do not skip dessert. Everything is made from scratch and the lemon pie was life changing. Our girls loved their homemade...
