Bistrot Gourmand — Restaurant in Ajaccio

We were 2 grown ups and two children. The menu is very small (5 choices per dish) and everything is prepared fresh. Quality criteria. Very good. Everybody should be able to find something.

As main course we had Kabeljau (codfish) and beef. Both were excellently prepared and especially for Corsika the price was fair. The portions were in my opinion big. The desert was chocolate cake and cake citron. A dream! Children can have a choice of the menu for 15€ flat. Fair.

The rosé house wine was very good.

The service speaks a little English and is very friendly. Waiting times were absolutely OK.

No tourist trap. The guests were all domestic people. I would consider it a small pearl and would recommend...

Wonderful coleslaw with shrimps and cuttlefish and the terrine of porc and foie gras made it for an amazing start! Very tasty dishes of porc with chestnut honey sauce and fish with a sauce which I couldn’t put a name on it but was absolutely delicious! Not to mention that if you take the first table on exterier terace you get to have a dinner with a view to the sea while also observing real life of locals having evening drinks at the bar next door! Overall great...

Beautiful food and service! The friendly chef explained the menu to us, and we both enjoyed a set menu of grilled octopus entrees and then fish and beef as our mains. Everything was cooked to perfection - tender, fragrant, and perfectly seasoned! Service was also very quick which we appreciated!

The only downside was the man next to us who smoked 4 cigarettes in the one hour we were there that we decided to leave without having dessert as the smell was...
