Les Roches Bleues — Restaurant in Ajaccio

Unfortunately, we were very upset here. On the way through we wanted to enjoy a small lunch with a great view and ordered two burgers with beef. We were aware beforehand that the restaurant is rather upscale and not a "tourist restaurant", so we were excited about the food.

Unfortunately, the salad tasted like soil, but the fries and burger were okay at first. After a few bites, however, I found a piece of bone in the meat. OK, that can happen. After a few more bites, I found onion skins in the burger, which I wasn’t happy about, but good, this can happen. Shortly after that, I suddenly started chewing on something hard, like gristle. On closer inspection, it was a pink piece about 3-4cm long. Then I had enough and called the waiter and let the plate go back.

Since the burger cost 23€ and I therefore had 3 pieces of "kitchen waste" in the meal, I returned almost half of it with the side dishes, in the expectation that there would be a discount as a apologize.

The staff was very friendly and apologetic.

In fact, the staff unfortunately couldn't do more than take the drinks (a cola and an espresso worth a total of 6€) off the bill, even after repeated enquiries. We found this value for the flaws in the food and that the plate was not returned empty more than inadequate. Apparently the head of the house wasn't there, so after a long discussion we paid in full for both burgers (46€). Unfortunately, I left the restaurant feeling hungry.

We won't be back, nor do we recommend this place to eat. There is one star for the beautiful view and the otherwise...

I arrived at 2:30 pm and asked it if was still possible to have lunch. The man at the front desk told me there will be no problem and that he would warn the kitchen there was still one more meal to come. He asked the waiter to accommodate me at one of the table with the panoramic view "pour lui faire plaisir " (to make him happy).

I ordered the Mediterranean menu (a mixed fish salad) which was rather refined and absolutely delicious, the portion was generous too. I took a glass of rosé wine which was perfectly fine, and had a final cup of mint tea. I enjoyed it all listening to the mix of classical and jazz music they were playing in the background which added an extra "chill" touch.

A beautiful view, a friendly staff, some chill music and a good meal. What else could you ask for ? 5...

It hasn't happened to me before that I have been treated in such an arrogant and unfriendly way. I was there with a pre-booked group and had informed the restaurant accurately about our time of arrival as well as what we wanted to eat. Added to this I did not receive the lunch options of the restaurant but only the other, more expensive options. Why?? Nevertheless we had to wait an hour before our food (which was very good and also priced that way) arrived. The view from the restaurant is beautiful, the food good but badly organized, unfriendly and arrogant service. Too bad! I will not go there again to bring a group and will advice my colleagues to...
