we stayed here on the advice of some friends who live in Brionnaise who often stay here when they visit. i was really happy with the accomodations. we had the biggest room of the four or five rooms total they have, "Grenache" I think (they are all named after grape varietals) at the top of a very narrow and steep stairwell. ||||we arrived late in the evening after driving all day and had dinner in the restaurant. our friends had told us a better restaurant is in Anduze proper (this place is a bit outside of Anduze, a few minutes drive) but we were too exhausted to drive to find it at that point so we ate at the restaurant. the food was okay. probably overpriced but i was more happy about just having a nice place to stay and a presse of beer than to be concerned about the food. the restaurant was not the reason we were there. however, as a side note the breakfast (included) was quite good. simple but good.||||the suite itself was incredibly spacious, huge room with king size bed, nice bedding, a sitting area. the bathroom was also very large. overall it was comfortable, quiet and most importantly, clean! wifi accessible. It had a blow dryer which was a bonus. it was not expensive per night either. the only reason i did not give it five stars is that it would have been nice to be in the town of Anduze so we could have walked around a little. This place is a bit on its own outside of the townsite.||||the room did not have a private terasse but there are plenty of outdoor areas to sit privately and have a drink and relax. ||||we only stayed a night en route further south and i would definitely...
Read moreMy wife and I found this restaurant through the Michelin guide 'vert' under 'for pleasure'. So we went expecting something special and were willing to pay. However, from the outset we were disappointed by the food and service. ||In terms of service: three different servers came to our table and there didn't appear to be any coordination between them. I have a milk allergy and I informed the first two servers but it wasn't noted in our order so the 3rd server was surprised to learn about it when the food was being served. We ordered an entree as well as main course (normal) yet the main course came out first. The entree (starter) came out towards the end of the dinner. This is not something one expects from a 'gastronomic restaurant'. ||This brings me to the 2nd point: the quality of the food. Immediately we noted that there was an issue as soon as the bread came out. The bread rolls were such that found in the discount section ||of the local supermarket and should never be found on the table of a gastronomic restaurant. The main courses were basic with the tastiest item being the 'purée de pommes de Terre' (mashed potatoes). We cannot comment on the starters as we decided not to accept them after the main course. They did offer a 'digestive' drink as compensation for the mix up in the order. Really didn't go far enough. ||Overall, a poor experience and needless to say we will not...
