La Suite by John Restaurant Pizzeria — Restaurant in Annecy

We had a lovely evening with friends dining at La Suite by John towards the end of August 2024. It's the first time that we've dined at the restaurant, arriving shortly after 7.30 having made a telephone reservation a little earlier. If you want to dine outside, which is what I'd recommend, then I'd advise making a reservation otherwise you may be disappointed. That said the staff were doing their best to squeeze guests in, and whilst it was warm and ideal to dine outside there were also some people dining inside.

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and polite. The restaurant is nicely appointed, it's modern and the furnishings provide a warm atmosphere.

We weren't rushed. We had a very relaxed evening dining for a few hours.

We didn't have starters, in our group we had the faux-fillet steak and the magret du canard, beautifully cooked with a loveky rich port and shallot sauce accompanied by vegetables.

The steak arrived blue on a hot plate so that you can cook it to your choice, although I opted to have mine as it came, blue. Just right and tender.

Desserts followed, the red fruit tart and chocolate fondant with the chocolate melted in the middle.

A lovely evening that didn't break the bank. Thank you John and team.

Nous avons passé un excellent moment au restaurant en famille, principalement grâce à notre serveuse (Virginie me semble-t-il?) qui a été d’une gentillesse et d’une attention remarquables : bougies sur le dessert pour mon anniversaire, prise en compte de l’intolérance au gluten de ma mère, eau régulièrement remplie… Bref, un service parfait malgré une salle visiblement en sous-effectif.

Au moment de payer, nous remarquons une erreur : 6 cafés comptés au lieu de 3. Rien de grave, nous le signalons calmement. Et là, l’ambiance change. Le patron, en personne, interpelle la serveuse d’un ton humiliant (Prénom VIENS !) devant nous, comme s’il s’adressait à un enfant ou pire, à un animal. Plutôt que de lui expliquer posément, il lui demande de “trouver l’erreur”, en la mettant sous pression, avec un plaisir malsain à la voir s’excuser.

La scène était profondément gênante. Cette employée, exemplaire du début à la fin, méritait du respect, pas d’être rabaissée devant des clients. Ce genre de remarque aurait dû être fait en privé, après notre départ. Ce choix délibéré de la dénigrer publiquement était inacceptable.

Je suis ressortie avec un vrai malaise. Le comportement du patron est une honte. Aucun professionnalisme, aucune considération humaine.

Ajoutez à cela une coupelle de fraises facturée 14€ pour ma mère (sans lactose ni gluten) – le tout sans accompagnement – et vous avez un parfait exemple d’un lieu au rapport qualité-prix déplorable, où les employés sont maltraités sous les yeux des clients.

Je ne remettrai plus jamais les pieds dans ce restaurant et je le déconseille à toute personne ayant un minimum...

The restaurant is very clean ,well situated with parking close by. I am pleased to have had a meal there and will definitely return.
