Charming Lunch at Café de France Visiting from NYC, this was our seventh time visiting the Luberon Valley but our first time having lunch at Café de France. We always thought it was too pretty for the food to be good, but it turned out to be a lovely place with a great view (table 32) and very good food. We will certainly add it to our lunch list going forward. The menu is simple but very nicely presented and delicious. We had the steak and salmon tartars, both of which were really good. Despite being summer, the shade and breeze made it feel quite cool. Highly recommend!

The only restaurant open in the weekdays evening in Lacoste. It’s located at terrace and you can enjoy the view with your meal or wine. The best is the breads they served, with local Rose wine. The beef tartars quite tasty, made with bone marrow of the ox, but Salmon tartar is bit disappointing as made with mango and avocado.

If the weather is fine, we prefer the patio for the absolutely beautiful views of the valley North & East of Lacoste, looking towards Bonnieux. Wonderful, friendly, patient service, with dependable food. Great local wine list, plus some cocktails. A room for one works well and is comfortable.

We found the food here "correct", neither more nor less, with the exception of a whole fish served to my husband, quite good. However, the waiter in charge of seating customers was rude and drunk with power, returning several times to our table to berate us for having requested a seat with a view. A table of regulars a few feet away was drinking and smoking during our meal, so we also were able to enjoy their smoke as well as the contents of what must have been a huge ashtray, emptied under our table onto the ground. The Luberon restaurant scene is competitive now and this place is third-rate among the many we dined at during our...

Waiter was unhelpful. After parking our car and walking all the at to the restaurant - we were told it’s full. Tables open. We were told that half of the restaurant was reserved. No problem. But then when I indicated we would like to sit at another table - and that he should please bring an umbrella - I was told that we were not allowed. We had two small children in strollers and they clearly didn’t want us there making a noise. Everyone else was allowed to sit. I’m...
