Cipressa — Restaurant in Apt

Eight of us went her on the last day of September. The place looked amazing from the drive to the dining room. Unfortunately the service was so poor that the experience was terrible. From the gum chewing waiter to the mediocre food the night was a total failure. I don’t really blame the inept over worked staff because they are all laid off at the end of October so the majority of them leave. The poor crew who are left behind have to struggle through the last few weeks. The management should either pay their seniors staff enough to keep them there or close down. Le cadre est indéniablement charmant : situé au sein de La Coquillade en Provence, Cipressa profite d’un environnement provençal superbe, intimiste et agréable. La réputation du lieu est à la hauteur sur le plan visuel… mais certains points ne sont pas à la hauteur de cette image.

Nous avons été déçus par la qualité du service : un Orangina commandé mais jamais servi, une bouteille d’eau ajoutée par erreur sur l’addition, et un malentendu sur un plat contenant du persil malgré une allergie. Heureusement, une jeune serveuse a su gérer la situation avec beaucoup de professionnalisme, et je tiens à la remercier.

Côté prix, les plats (notamment les pizzas) sont corrects, mais les boissons sont excessivement chères : sodas à 6 € et cocktails à 20 €. Cela pourrait se justifier dans le restaurant gastronomique du complexe, mais beaucoup moins ici. Difficile de comprendre un tel écart, surtout quand on sait qu’un soda se vend bien moins cher ailleurs.

Autre point : un plat de pâtes servi à l’une de mes collègues était piquant, alors que rien ne l’indiquait sur la carte (contrairement aux pizzas qui, elles, sont signalées avec un petit pictogramme piment). Résultat : elle n’a pas pu terminer son assiette.

En tant qu’habitante de la région, cette expérience m’a laissée sur une impression décevante, donnant l’image d’un établissement davantage pensé pour séduire les visiteurs de passage que pour incarner un lieu chaleureux et local, comme il devrait l’être.

Food is very nice, which is important. But it took more than 30 minutes from the time we were seated to placing an order. We had to walk inside the restaurant and ask the staff to come by our table on the patio.
