Disastrous place - avoid at all costs. Rude staff, odd decor (dark and dingy, feels like you are walking into a grimy pub!). The only thing they have going for them is the view. The mosquitoes left us covered in horrendous bites for days (not their fault, but they do nothing about them, not a coil or repellant in sight).
The worst flaw however was this: They said nothing about a rigid rule that each person must necessarily get 1 main and given that my friend has some food intolerances and could not find anything suitable on the limited mains list and to add to that we weren't very hungry, we tried to reason with them saying we'd be happy to get 2-3 entrees (which we were told were very small), dessert and even offered to get in addition the most expensive main to share between us (the lobster). We didn't want to waste food getting a heavy main each and told them they didn't make this "rule" clear when we called for a rez and their website is hardly the best. Financially, our offer of multiple other courses (entrees and dessert plus the lobster) would have racked up a much higher bill than if each of us had to get just 1 main each. If they were classier in their handling of the situation we'd have happily gotten a nice bottle of wine as well but their bizarre stubbornness put us off. If this establishment had an iota of business sense (and a modicum of humility and customer service), they would have obliged. But the woman parroted "1 meat 1 person 1 meat 1 person". How very odd. Granted we did not eat (as we decided to cut our losses and leave) so cannot comment on the food, but the menu didn't appear to be anything special or interesting.
Having eaten at some of the best restaurants, including 3 michelins around the world where the service is impeccable, we found the arrogance of this place confounding. No doubt the owners will write a tastless 'attack' as they seem to do for all people who leave poor...
Read moreTop notch experience and certainly one of the best codfish I’ve ever had.
The staff is welcoming and attentive, and the terrace is simply stunning if you manage to get a good table. Parking nearby can be difficult, but it’s absolutely worth the effort to visit Dix Vin.
The menu is small, a great sign of quality and fresh ingredients. The whole meal was enjoyable, but the codfish was the true highlight: perfectly cooked, with a pearly texture similar to scallops and topped with a thin layer of tapenade. Absolutely yummy! A fantastic restaurant to enjoy the flavours...
