Chez Huguette — Restaurant in Arcachon

We had looked forward to a nice seafood meal at Chez Huguette. It started out well and we were served our food and drinks outside on the terrace area. Unfortunately as we just started to eat, a huge windstorm came along and blew away a lot of glasses, bread baskets etc from the outdoor tables. We lost some of our drinks and got sand in our faces and in our food. We understand the staff were running around trying to collect glasses etc, but we expected some kind of gesture from the management for the disrupted meal. We had to carry our own plates inside, and got seafood juice spilled on us in the chaos. My friend with a baby had to run for cover so we went back to collect her meal and carry it inside, since we didn't have anyone to help us. We asked if there was anywhere to sit with our food and were told no, and then we ended up eating our meal at a counter right near the trash bin and dirty dishes with a lot of flies around. We were very disappointed with the customer service and attitude, because we even had to argue not to pay for one 4 euro glass of wine that was spilled. Lors de notre séjour à Andernos-les-Bains, nous avons eu le plaisir de visiter un restaurant qui nous a impressionné par sa chaleur et son excellente cuisine. Bien que le restaurant était bondé le dimanche après-midi, nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par la charmante hôtesse. Après une courte attente, on nous a attribué une table avec une belle vue sur l'eau. La cuisine ouverte nous a permis d'entrevoir la préparation soignée des plats, tous présentés avec une précision irréprochable – un détail que nous, anciens restaurateurs, apprécions particulièrement.

Les poissons servis, notamment la sole et la dorade, étaient excellemment préparés et reflétaient la fraîcheur des produits régionaux. Notre serveuse, qui, nous l'espérons, fera bientôt partie de la famille, s'est occupée de nous avec attention et chaleur. Le couronnement fut les desserts faits maison, qui ont parfaitement clôturé notre visite avec leur douce tentation. Obwohl das Lokal am Sonntagmittag bis auf den letzten Platz gefüllt war, wurden wir von der charmanten Gastgeberin freundlich empfangen. Nach einer kurzen Wartezeit erhielten wir einen Tisch mit wunderschönem Blick auf das Wasser. Die offene Küche ermöglichte uns Einblicke in die sorgfältige Zubereitung der Speisen, die alle makellos präsentiert wurden – ein Detail, das wir als ehemalige Restaurantbesitzer besonders schätzen.

Der servierte Fisch, insbesondere die Seezunge und Dorade, war hervorragend zubereitet und spiegelte die Frische der regionalen Produkte wider. Unsere Bedienung, die hoffentlich bald zur Familie des Hauses gehören wird, kümmerte sich aufmerksam und herzlich um uns. Despite good reviews, we were still a bit worried coming with three two-year-olds between two couples. What a great reception and meal! The staff were happy to have us, and were equipped with boosters. The bathroom even has a spacious changing table. The meal was fresh, tasty and arrived in a timely manner.
