Restaurant la corniche: Worst possible service. We ve been unwelcomed by a lady who proposed us a table on the 2nd row table. As there were many tables available on the 1st row and it was nice to face the ocean directly, we asked for one of those. She said it was not ready yet because some guest just left. We said we didn’t mind waiting. She came back and said it wasn’t possible because no waiter were available to put the plates on the table. As our table was dully dressed, we said we didn’t mind carrying the plate to this table. Then she came up with another excuse saying each waiter were assigned a table row and we had to be served by a specific waiter. It was all very ridiculous how adamant she was on not pleasing us as client. Then we realised there were 1 fully dressed table available on the first row( 4 tables undressed and 1 table dressed: total 5 tables available) .When showing her that one, we thought she will finally be accommodating but No. she then said that 1st row table are only for hotel guest. Since it was 22h00 and already 15 mn discussion with her we advised her that at that rimes there won’t be be suddenly 10 guests of the hotel showing up and specifically asking for those table. At loss of arguments she then call a waiter, also quite rude who asked “ what s going on. Upon explaining the situation he said it would be too complicated for him to serve us at one of these tables because he will have to cross the room. We then proposed that if a waiter on that side could serve us, it would be easier for everyone. At the end he just became all red , boiling and shouting “well fine i will cross the room then! “ What an awful atmosphere and how unhelpful and unprofessional those people are. At the end we lost 15mn talk for no reason. There were plenty of full table around us with many waiters but it all sound very complicated for them to just be nice!! Obviously they must have spit in our plates but well we had a nice view. When i asked for 2 extra pieces of bread for the oysters they said they have none! At that stage we knew they wouldn’t help for anything. We stayed at this hotel before so we just came back for the view. We knew The food was no better than a simple coffee place in town but quite expensive regarding the poor choice/quality. Go there only for the view because the food is plain and the service is the worst! No manager visible the whole time and while we were sitting we could hear another waitress moaning and complaining her feet hurts and another one saying he was dying to go home. This was just in June. So good luck for anyone who will experience the most horrible service in...

The Service: The waiter spoke really fast and even after asking him to slow down he kept on at the same speed. He also completely disappeared at the end of our meal forcing us to call someone else for the check.

The food: They have a "prix fixe" menu (same price no matter what you order) of 83€, except a few items have added charges. We both got the ceviche of tuna and that was really yummy. My wife got the duck and I ordered the "dos de cabillaud". My fish was exquisite but I'm glad I asked for the sauce on the side because the anchovies were way too strong and would have completely ruined the delicate taste of the cabillaud. The few other things on my plate were complex and enjoyable. My wife didn't like her duck. It was cold and the flavors they try to mix didn't really work together. The duck itself was tasty. For desert I got the platter of cheese (because I was still a little hungry) and I was very happy with the choices of cheese that were on my plate. The weird thing was that they brought me bread but no butter?!?

The atmosphere: This restaurant has without a doubt the best possible view of the bay of Arcachon. Perfectly set up for the sunset too. And you can even see part of the Dune du Pyla. Everything is beautifully played out around the overflowing pool. Unfortunately the pool and the long chairs laid out in front of it are strictly reserved for hotel guests and the staff will be very quick to remind you of that if you cross the limit even if it's just to take a quick picture of the sunset. The outdoor space also has a bar were they have a DJ playing some really good music later in the night. My wife and I were going to leave after dinner but the ambience was so good there that we decided to stay and go dance at the bar and have one more drink.

All in all it was a very pleasant evening and we...

We visited this restaurant for lunch and had an extremely disappointing experience. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this one left quite an impression on me.

We were traveling with a small child and looking for a place to feed her. The adults were just hoping to enjoy some oysters and wine, but our waiter seemed dissatisfied with our plans and made that clear by disdainfully saying, "Why don't you go to the bar then?" We tried to explain that we needed to feed the baby, but the feeling that we weren't welcome persisted from the start until we left.

For the little one, we ordered grilled chicken for 28€, which was tasteless and looked like it had been boiled rather than grilled. For the adults, we had oysters (which, while nice, were four times the price of similar ones at nearby restaurants), a dessert (which never arrived), and wine. We ordered a Chablis, as we wanted something different after a week of intense Bordeaux tastings. Our waiter, however, smirked and laughed at our choice right in front of us. This was the first time during our entire trip that I encountered such unprofessionalism, rudeness, and disrespect. If you don't want to serve something, don't put it on the menu. If you believe a customer's choice isn't the best, make a recommendation. But I strongly believe a customer has the right to order what they want without being mocked for it.

Unfortunately, the bad experience didn’t stop there. The waiter spilled water outside the glass, tossed a fork onto the table while setting it, and was consistently rude and inconsiderate. We asked for another waiter, but by then, our lunch was already ruined.

Before lunch, we had even considered staying at this hotel for a few nights during our next holiday. After this experience, we will certainly...

After climbing on the Dune of Pilat on a weekday morning, we came here on a recommendation of a friend. We found street parking with a short 3 minute walk to the hotel. Dining al fresco here is such a treat. You can’t top the view and the breeze and beautifully presented food. Two in the party chose the seafood platter. I chose the fois gras and fish. We were not planning on ordering any dessert but when we asked what the Paris-Pyla was we just had to spring for it. The service is a little slow (possibly on purpose) so that one can appreciate dining at a leisurely pace and enjoying the view. The table near us had cocktails and emptied 2 bottles over lunch (5 of them) and then quickly requested a reservation for the same table for lunch 2 days later. They enjoyed it that much! We enjoyed it too. We lingered for almost a 3 hour lunch and then made our way to visit Arcachon and its beaches.

Came here for dinner and enjoy the sunset. The view at this restaurant is outstanding, easily the best view in Arcachon! You should try to get a table closer to the sea as the sunset view along would worth it. The food to be honest was good but not amazing. There are still some area for improvement. The fixed menu tells me that kitchen can churn out dishes at a high clip. This was confirmed by our conversation with the waiter as the restaurant alone takes care of 500+ per night and if you count the bar, it is easily 1000+ per night during summer. It is very difficult to balance quality and quantity. I feel dish quality was good but does not quite match up with the price (however, you do pay for the view). Also the magnum wine bottle was cool. You should totally order it if you have a large party or just want to have a good time 😉
