Wow, this place is truly a gem. In a city like Paris where amazing food is on every other street, this place stands out above the rest.
Located about 30 minutes west of the center of Paris, it is refreshing to dine in a place without the busy street and sidewalk traffic.
The restaurant is beautiful and spacious. The red, brown, and cream interior provides a feeling of familiarity and nostalgia.
The service was incredibly pleasant; despite me not being able to speak French or Chinese, the owners were tremendously warm, welcoming, and friendly.
We started with their lychee cocktail, which is a family recipe. It was excellent. I had 3 refills. For appetizers, we had their freshly made eggrolls and spring rolls that were steaming hot, perfectly crispy, and filled with delicious meat, shrimp, and vegetables.
We continued with an exquisite black pepper beef stir fry, which was the perfect mix of tender and savory. For sides, we had their ultra-fluffy fried rice with a generous amount of scrambled eggs, and thin chow mein noodles that were cooked to perfection.
We made sure to save room for their speciality, the 3-course Peking duck. WOW, just wow.
After bringing the duck out, the first course consisted of table-side cut duck skin “tacos”, which were perfectly crisp and balanced well with carrots, green onions, and their house-made sweet and savory sauce.
The meat of the duck was taken back to the kitchen for preparation of the second course: perhaps the best bite of the night, it was a delectable stir fry cooked in what I’d describe as the perfect garlic-ginger sweet sauce. I licked the plate clean.
The third course came out soon after, which was a small bowl of duck bone broth soup. Nothing goes to waste here. Skin, meat, and bones, all served in 3 separate courses. Phenomenal.
We ended with a refreshing plate of fruit, consisting of thinly sliced sweet and sour pineapple, ultra-ripe mangos, and de-seeded chilled lychees.
Chef’s kiss. As a frequent fine dining guest, I must say this restaurant served me one of the best meals I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing in my entire life.
We will be dining here during every single one of our future visits to Paris. Thank you so very much for...
Read moreThis gorgeous Chinese restaurant just outside of Paris is absolutely worth the trip! The Chen family’s warmth and hospitality are truly unmatched.
First off, we had lychee cocktails that were lightly sweet and complemented the appetizers. The Peking duck was carved table side by Madame Chen with such care and precision and was the best we’ve ever had. Every bite of food, from the shrimp and pork spring roll appetizers to the fried rice, chow mein, beef, and of course the duck, was absolutely incredible. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, peaceful, and welcoming which was the perfect setting for such a special meal. We ended with a fresh fruit platter that was the perfect finish. I can’t wait to visit every time I come back to Paris!
Thank you so much for the best meal ever and for our favorite dining...
L'amateurisme...
