Courtepaille — Restaurant in Avignon

I cannot say enough positive things about the staff at this restaurant. We stopped to eat on a hot day after walking around L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue market. After my husband began eating, he started to feel unwell. He slumped over and I ran to ask for an ambulance. I do not speak any French so one of the managers came to stay with us and translate. A firefighter in the restaurant gathered info to tell the emergency dispatcher. The waiters packed up our food and added an extra order to the bag, telling us that we will get very hungry waiting at the hospital. They were all so generous and helpful! The place was homey with a basic menu, similar to Cracker Barrel in the US. Air conditioned inside and dogs are welcome. The kitchen stays open through the afternoon. I am so happy we picked this restaurant with a wonderful, young, accommodating...

To be fair, l'm English so there may have been a communication breakdown, but l wasn't the only one complaining that evening.. The food was excellent, but it took over an hour to get it because they forgot to tell the chef, although my wife received hers in good time. The first beer l ordered was disgusting so ordered another that wasn't. Not the fault of the restaurant, but l got some food on my white shirt which l immediately went to wash out. I used one of their red napkins to dry the worst of the water after washing and l was shocked to see my sleeve had turned pink from the napkin! My experience then; l waited 90 mins for a meal which cost me €70 and a Giorgio Armani shirt! I wish l had just...

A éviter: cuisine médiocre, personnel peu ou pas concerné, avec un "maître de maison" qui, je l'espère a été "viré" depuis notre "merveilleux" dîner du 29 octobre 2016! Jugez plutôt:une salade verte, à la carte, annoncée avec chèvre chaud et petits lardons, servie avec deux rondelles de saucisson remplaçant les petits lardons, sans que nous ayons été prévenus (il n'y en avait plus!), des frites mauvaises ce qui nous a ôté toute envie d'en reprendre "à volonté", deux crèmes brulées commandées pour le dessert, une seule servie car "c'était la dernière, il faut choisir autre chose"...et 50 minutes plus tard, en sortant du restaurant (ou cantine?) nous avons eu la très mauvaise surprise de trouver la vitre avant gauche de notre voiture fracturée et notre voiture, pourtant garée en pleine lumière, à gauche de l'escalier d'accès au restaurant, vidée de son contenu! Fin de soirée sympathique, sur la route de ce qui devait être des vacances en famille, avec dépôt de plainte au commissariat central d'Avignon, sans que le "maître de maison", déjà rentré se coucher (le samedi le restaurant ferme à 23 h et nous n'étions pas les derniers clients) ne daigne ni nous parler au téléphone quand nous avons retrouvé notre voiture fracturée, ni revenir sur les lieux...Depuis, nous avons tenté d'obtenir un dédommagement de CourtePaille et nous avons fini ,cette semaine, après de longs mois d'attente, par avoir une fin de non recevoir! Alors, n'y allez pas, si vous tenez à votre voiture et surtout si vous voulez manger correctement avec un bon rapport...
