Avoid like the plague. I had one of the worst experiences ever. Let’s see after a few more reviews…. I hope it improves because I love an Indian meal.
Ok. Sorry, I need to reply to the owners response 1st. Apologies. It’s worth it for you. The owner thinks I’m a spoof. 😂 That’s his defence….. spoof. Where should I start …. 🧐 Well, I have probably eaten more Indian food than he has brushed his hair.
Owner…..Get in touch with me. I live in Robion. Nobody could have been more pleased to find a restaurant providing Indian cuisine. I love it, I’m British and have dined in the best Indian restaurants in the UK. Over to you Mr Owner.
Sorry folks. My review still stands, below 🙂
Let’s do it chronologically. Apologies in advance for the length of this.
Arrived and parked ok. (Not free). Taken to table ok. Menu arrived from the only waiter working on a Friday night. More on this later. Asked if we would like a drink. I chose a pint of lager (no Indian beers😕). My wife a carafe of red wine. 5 minutes later the waiter arrived and said “no draught lager”, no wine arrived. I said I’d have two bottles of Corona instead. I asked waiter for some popadoms and chutney. He asked “what is that”… I was shocked and had to explain. He said it was his 1st night, and had never worked in an Indian restaurant before. Yes, really. Waiter came back after 5 minutes and said, “no bottles of beer either”. Still no wine arrived. The manager came over and said they had not bought stock, and the beer dispense wasn’t working. Still no wine. Manager sensed dissatisfaction and said he was sending someone to the local supermarket !! I felt dread. Still no wine after 20 minutes, despite only 4 tables taken. …. order was taken after 20 minutes. One chicken tikka and a veggie (broccoli) dish. Relief…. NO. Waiter returns. “No broccoli sir”. What..? Oh, ok. 2 chicken tikka’s. I feel for the guy who was stressed-out, untrained and not supported. After 40 minutes I see some bottles of beer. Manager arrives with two bottles, YEAH. Still no wine !! I demand the wine. It arrived. . Starters arrive. 1 dish that would have fed 6 people, no salad or lemon slice. Just one plate to share. Oh, the chicken was good. Whilst eating, we were watching the carnage at other tables unfold….. Fawlty Towers was 5* compared to here. Poor waiter. Our mains arrived. Lamb tikka masala and a chicken masala. Mine was unusually a lamb shank, un-marinaded, in a bowl of curry sauce. Other dish was the same pieces of chicken we had for the starter placed in the same sauce as mine. I kept looking round for the cameras thinking someone was filming for a laugh. Sauce was obviously made for all the dishes on the menu from Korma to Vindaloo, and our masala was hotter than a funeral pyre!!! We decided to eat up, and escape… I went to pay and told waiter I sympathised with him on his, and our, ordeals. Manager quickly came over and said I could have the beer for free, and the wine…. he thought that would see things right. NO..
Only good, knowledgeable and trained waiters, good service, properly cooked Indian cuisine will see your survival.
For my sake, I hope things change because it’s the nearest place to get a curry if it does. Let’s see...
Read moreCannot rate this place highly enough. We called as a non French speaking group of 13 to ask if they did collection and they were amazing. They went above and beyond to facilitate our order, even letting us WhatsApp them to ensure nothing got lost in translation. When we went to pick it up they even threw in some free drinks! And that’s not even the food - the food was incredible. Every dish was absolutely amazing, cannot fault any of it. Highly highly recommend this place! Great staff, incredible food and all...
