Les Galets — Restaurant in Bastia

My partner and I attended this restaurant and ordered the beef. We asked for it to be cooked medium rare and we’re advised that it was sharing portion which was okay. The steak then arrived on two plates with one being medium rare and the other being nearly well done!!! My partner obviously pointed this out and asked for another dish ! My portion was indeed medium rare but was full of fat which was not rendered and inedible. The service was very inattentive and some would say unacceptable. Our evening was made worse when we went to pay the bill we expected at least half of the steak to be taken off the bill as less than half was eaten. On a positive note the French fries were good!! We have spent the last month travelling around the world and have to say that this is truly one of the most disappointing...

We have been chosing the restaurant for a long time and honestly, we were disappointed. The children's menu is a flatbread made of minced meat, tasteless and rubbery fries (they won't even offer the child ketchup, there is not a piece of vegetable in it). The starter in the form of a salad with shrimps was not entirely fresh. The main course linguini with blue crab was very average and not well flavoured, the same grilled octopus. And then all the little things spoiled it: ants crawling on the table, a dirty spoon, a bitten glass and not very nice service. But the blonde waitress in a short black skirt was nice. We were a family of 9 and the restaurant accommodated us warmly, they gave great recommendations for the wine and food, the setting is absolutely wonderful, with the sea and the sunset, the position is perfect for a walk in idyllic Erbalunga after dinner, the food was creative and delicious - we took photos only of the deserts because we were too eager to eat the main course:), my family remembers the experience as a highlight for our trip in Corsica.
