La Cale — Restaurant in Bayeux

Booked for lunch, with 1 4 year old and 1 baby. Upon arrival we were seated outdoor smoking area. Tried to request to be seated indoor as we have kids and indoor was empty , but was being told the restaurant was fully booked and they didn't really care about kids and smoking. In fact the restaurant was empty with several large tables. All other customers who arrived after us were being offered to be seated indoor, even a group of 7!

If you are travelling with kids and you believe cigarette and electronic cigarette will damage their health, I will suggest you to choose another dining location.

Food quality was OK, if you don't mind low quality of service and long waiting time, you should be able to enjoy...

We were pleasantly surprised by the care taken by the chef and the serving staff. The food was excellently prepared, exactly how we requested it. It was plated beautifully. A wine was suggested, which complimented our meal nicely. We thought at first that it was a bit pricey, but considering the end product, we felt it was a fair price for what we received. My son and I were retracing the battle steps of his grandfather. All hotels were filled in Arromanche and we were graciously directed and accompanied to the adjacent accommodations to the restaurant La Calle. The wine and food were excellent, the room accommodations Spartan, but no doubt a 5 star for a Normandy landing soldier. It was a memorable evening with my boy and no doubt an evening he will long remember...
