A TABLE ! — Restaurant in Bayonne

This restaurant was recommended to us, and in combination with the high reviews we had high expectations. Service was lovely but sorry to say the food was terrible. Maybe the regular chef had a day off? Starters were ok, mains were awful. Meat and fished cooked dry, same bitter tasting ratatouille and sauce tartare like sauce with every dish (fish, pork and beef), hamburger loaded with slices of burger cheese and the same sauce. Once again a fabulous experience from start to finish. Such friendly and helpful staff, you feel at home the moment you enter A very simple menu, offering the best of what is seasonably available. Every dish we tried has been excellent. Very good value for money, portion sizes are plentiful. Particularly nice, light rosé wine by the pichet. We visited twice last year and this, hoping we get to return next year. Merci...

Marvellous, marvellous restaurant, which I look forward to visiting every year when I return to Anglet. The meals here are superb; good portions created with fresh high quality produce and a bit of magic in the kitchen. The tuna steak is a particular favourite.
