This hotel has been completely updated and is very comfortable. the bedrooms are air conditioned and the shower and bathroom are excellent. the hotel does not look like the picture above and is more modern. It has a lively bar where food is served. The food is of a very good standard and the service is really excellent. There is an outside area where one can also eat/have a drink. The main dining room serves top class food, we ate their twice and were really happy with the food, it is indeed fine dining and they serve lovely amuse- bouches.||Breakfast is very good, served in a large bright room and the choices are fine. ||The standard of cleaning is really good.||||A minus of this hotel is that there is no pool. no garden and almost no public areas to sit inside. There are two nice comfortable chairs in the small reception area but these face the lift. The bar can be noisy and if you do not enjoy that you really only have your room to go to.||There is a nice park just behind the hotel. This family run hotel, well known to us over the last 20 years, has had a complete ||make-over and is now a modern, stylish and extremely comfortable hotel in the centre of St Pée sur Nivelle in the Pays Basque region of France. The welcome from the Berroteran family is as warm as ever and we spent a wonderful 4 nights there. The hotel now has a lift and the the rooms have all been very tastefully furnished and have air con. Our room was immaculate with an excellent bathroom - great touch control shower! The hotel has a lively bistro and a restaurant where we had two delicious Basque style meals cooked superbly by Pascal. There is plenty to do and see in this beautiful corner of France. St. Jean de Luz, Biarritz and Bayonne are all within easy reach and a trip up to the summit of La Rhune on the little train (or a walk up) is well worth it for the views over to the Pyrenees.
