We were after the archetypal Lyon bouchon experience and this place was enthusiastically recommended to us by a local man for that purpose. We are so glad we took up the recommendation as our experience here was fabulous!

We loved the atmosphere, food, wine and service here. The location in the cave for dinner is very cute. My partner had the escargot for entree and the raviol for main. The presentation, composition and flavour of the dishes was tremendous. I had the foi gras terrine for entree and the duck for main. Both dishes were utterly beautiful. Neither of us left a skerrick from any of our dishes. We shared a veloute for dessert and really enjoyed that too.

Service throughout our dinner was utterly charming and our basic local language skills were happily tolerated. The owner/manager and staff spoke excellent English and were lovely to us. We drank a rose from Provence for our wine that went superbly with the food. We thought the cost of the meal was modest for the quality of the experience.

This is a very good restaurant. We got exactly what we were seeking from the visit. An authentic bouchon experience with great local food and warm engaging hospitality. If that’s what you’re after, this is definitely your place.

Carbonade « flamande » n’en a pas les saveurs, viande pas assez tendre et la sauce pas sucrée malgré la spécificité de la recette . Les frites sont correctes , cidre bon ainsi que la bière blonde . Le fait de prend la commande des dessert au moment de la prise de la commande (entres et plats , à 19.00 je précise ) n’est absolument pas professionnel, car il est difficile de se projeter au devis du repas sur la place et l’envie qu’on aura en fin de repas. De plus , malgré les desserts commandés il y a eu une erreur : j’ai commandé une brioche perdue à la poise avec son sorbet POIRES , et j ai eu un pain perdu avec une glace vanille qui fut renvoyé en cuisine , puis on me rapportât la broche perdu avec la glace à la vanille qu il y avait sur le pain perdu au lieu du sorbet à la poire . C’est un manque de respect de nous faire payer leurs erreurs dans le but de rentabiliser les pertes sans demander au client s’il accepte . Pas professionnel et irrespectueux . Petite précision: le banana split n’avait pas la glace fraise pourtant annoncées. Le burger dans le menu enfant est un simple steak entre deux tranches de pain perdu sans condiments ni fromage avec une larme de ketchup , nous avons donc pris la salade et un quart de tomate de nos entrées pour « aménager » ce dernier , ainsi que de la sauce que nous avons demandés dont une mayonnaise maison.
