We were staying locally and ventured over the bridge to Cafe le Pont. Originally we were only calling in for a quick drink but stayed for food and a few more beers. We ordered the lamb and goats cheese burgers and they are simply divine. From the first bite, the locally sourced goats cheese sets your taste buds alight. Just heaven. This little cafe bar is a real gem of a find. Situated by the river and on a warm evening, there is no better place. The service is very good and welcome very warm. I simply cannot wait to return.

Unfortunate slow service. Friendly though. Expect to spend a long leisurely amount of time relaxing by the beautiful river. Burgers ok. Juicy paddies. Mine missing the bacon and cheese on top which was added on when asked but bacon was black (totally cremated) not edible. Kids burgers meat paddies were way over spiced with herbs (more than the adult ones, so suspect just unlucky if wasn't mixed in properly)that they wouldn't eat them.

Great setting, fab food and brilliant staff. Easy to see why this is a very popular place to grab a pint, enjoy a meal or just take in the beautiful setting.

Ok so we all know how picky I can be as far as restaurants and bars go, if there no good I really don't list my opinion.

Today we had lunch at Cafe le Pont la Pierre, and we had home made fresh lamb burgers, it was the best tasting burger I've had since I don't know when,

The location is amazing, right on the side of the Gartempe river and a loverly Park the other side. The restaurant is nestled down at the back end of Bellac, your find it it you just follow the old roads going down to the river,

It was an amazing place to sit outside and enjoy the lunch and just relax, absolutely wonderful.

The owners are really nice as well, there English and fluent in French, real nice genuine people. Had a good chat about Tottenham and Liverpool as well. We will definitely be making our way back there on a regular basis.

Out of my 700 ish reviews, this restaurant and bar has to be somewhere near the top of my list now .

If you appreciate my review please...

The owners of this place showed no enthusiasm to work here. It seemed everything was too much trouble. The beef burger was very average, but it took ages to cook, and yet the place was quiet. She even managed to burn the burger bun!! The place was dirty, we arrived at 12.00, so when they had just opened and the floor was dirty and littered. The toilets were dirty, and the bins were overflowing (obviously from the previous evening).

Wouldn't eat here again and wouldn't...
