Le Lion D'Or — Restaurant in Bergerac

Arrived in the area on a Sunday! This establishment was one of very few open during the afternoon! Ordered a glass of red wine and was served a small glass of wine (125ml), enquired about eating, no food served on a Sunday! When we came to pay the price of this tiny glass of wine was over 6 Euros! Extortionate as we bought a bottle of Bergerac red wine in Carrefour for 4 Euros! Needless to say this establishment missed out on our custom for the remainder of our stay! A complete RIP OFF! 😡 No misunderstanding, I paid with a 20 euro note and received a 5euro and 1 euro and some coins as my change, so we paid between 13 and 14 euros for 2 small glasses of wine! This is a place where you order your stuff at the bar and then a waiter brings them to your table. They allow you to bring whatever they don't sell to your table, so I've got the croissants from across the road. Coffees are superb every time. The whole experience seems genuine to me though I don't have a good knowledge of southern France's culture to appraise this.
