My visit to Les Maison des Burgers was a whirlwind of highs and lows, culminating in a bittersweet experience. Opting for simplicity, I chose the Le Tom burger to go, intrigued by the promise of fresh ingredients and artisanal flair. In many ways, the burger lived up to expectations, but not without its drawbacks.
The highlight was undoubtedly the meat – fresh, juicy, and cooked to perfection, it was the star of the show. Paired with what was described as excellent hamburger bread, the foundations for a perfect burger were there. However, the experience was somewhat marred by the excessive amount of sticky cheese, which overwhelmed the balance of flavors. Additionally, the bread, though great in theory, succumbed to sogginess from the cheese, detracting from the overall texture and enjoyment of the meal.
The fries that accompanied my burger were, regrettably, a letdown. A mix of soggy and inconsistently cooked, they fell short of the crispy, golden standard that one might expect alongside such a carefully crafted burger. Whether undercooked or overcooked, the fries did not deliver the satisfying crunch and flavor that I had anticipated.
Despite these pitfalls, the core components of the burger at Les Maison des Burgers showed promise, highlighting a commitment to quality ingredients and culinary skill. The missteps with the cheese and the fries' preparation were significant.
In conclusion, while my experience at Les Maison des Burgers was a mixed bag, the strengths of their offering suggest that with a few adjustments, they could elevate their game significantly. For those in pursuit of a quality burger with fresh, flavorful meat, Les Maison des Burgers still warrants consideration – just be mindful of the cheese and maybe skip the fries until they've ironed...
Read moreAfter a long bicycle ride of 50km, visiting multiple 'chateaux' with a lot of stairs, we didn't want to cook our own meal. We were in the market for something meaty and fatty, because we earned it. We burned our calories for that day and looked for something that could replace our burned calories. Luckily, La maison des burgers was on route. Burgers, fries and beer. A combination made in heaven.
Les frites. The fries are what you would call robust. With the skin on and the cooking process varies between burned and raw. I like that, but if you are used to the MD or BK perfectly golden fries, this is not you. I missed the Mayo, but that is a Dutch thingy.
Le Burger. The meat on the burger was perfectly done. Juicy with crunchy bits. I ordered le Roger, which had goats cheese and bacon. The bun was also very good and absorbed the juices and the runny cheese. This is a perfect burger. Maybe a bit rustic, but you could taste every ingredient in there.
La Bière. This is something you won't get at maccie D ;) a nice cold beer. Because of our previous efforts we had 2 of them.
The service was excellent. We only waited 10 minutes, while it was very busy with locals that picked up their orders. We waited outside. This is something that they could improve on. Some flowers outside, make a little terras of sorts, basically improve the outside experience a bit.
Al in all. If you are in the neighbourhood, get your...
On approuve ! Je suis très contente d'avoir ce "restaurant" dans mon village, il est bien placé et facile d'accès. Les prix sont corrects. Idéal pour les soirs de la flemme. Vous pouvez même manger sur place il y a des tables...
