Mountain Restaurant + A real restaurant that happens to be at the top of a mountain. Excellent food, perfect service, and the extensive wine list includes a selection of wines by the glass. If you sit inside you can enjoy a panoramic view of the open kitchen and watch the team inside working their magic. We enjoyed everything about our visit which had not been planned in advance. The surprise element made it an even better discovery. Not cheap, but it is genuine quality that you are paying for, not simply the location and the view. This restaurant was re-opened in December 2018, after lying derelict and boarded-up for three years. The atmosphere of this restaurant is quite nice, particularly when the weather allows for tables outside. You should definitely make reservations for the weekend and busy times. The starters we had was not particularly impressive. The snail was too salty and the taste of snail got lost between all the sauce and croquettes casing. The beetroot salad was quite small and salty. Excellent food for a "restaurant d'altitude". Host staff has a bit of an attitude ("we're fully booked outside" with more than half the tables open, and nobody actually showing up while we ate - after negotiating to be sat outside) - I guess they're holding tables for celebrities (in case they show up)... Service was very pleasant albeit very slow, and food was excellent, though very pricey (30 euros for a hamburger, which is par for the course in 2022/23 in Megève). Bottom...
