Mountain Restaurant + A little off the beaten track and looking like a small chalet, this place is a lovely surprise in every way. There is a great terrace of course, and inside it is effortlessly stylish and authentically rustic at the same time. Service is excellent, but the food was even better. Local cuisine elevated to perfection. If this place was in London there would be a queue outside that stretched right round the block. Having to put skis on to reach it simply adds to its unique glamour. Wine list is compact and well chosen. I had a glass of the red "wine of the moment". It was an excellent local Mondeuse, so good I had to have another glass. A little gem in the forest. And not so far away from its mother-ship a little further down the hill. Excellent food, in lovely traditionnal “Chalet”. A bit pricey, especially desserts, but it’s Megève 🏔☀️ Tartiflette at EUR 24-, kids menu at 16-, the staff was welcoming and very helpful to book a table on the phone.

Less trendy than Alpette or Hibou, I highly recommend the chef’s food at Chalet Forestier...

Quelle déception ! Le changement de propriétaire a dénaturé ce restaurant qui servait une cuisine simple, honnête et délicieuse. C’est devenu trompeur et médiocre. Une croûte au fromage qui est un amas d’oignons et de champignons. J’ai cherché le fromage et le vin blanc… La tartiflette était submergée d’oignons et de lardons. On a également cherché le goût du reblochon… Quant au Mont-Blanc, nous avons aussi cherché la meringue et avons trouvé à la place… de la myrtille ! La promesse de mettre en valeur la cuisine traditionnelle n’est pas tenue. C’est pourtant si simple ! Je suggère au chef de s’entretenir avec les anciens propriétaires.
