Lac de Javen — Restaurant in Bonneville

Beautiful natural bowl, surrounded by mountains, with a lake, a little tadpole pond, a restaurant and in summer archery and trampolining too. Totally unspoilt, you can either drive to the restaurant, or park a km away, by the river and hike up. The river is a nice place to get your toes out for a paddle too. You can also rent a line and fish for trout here. A good place to start other hikes from, and in summer the Petit Fontaine chair-lift runs to take you higher. What a magical and totally regenerating...

Extremely rude staff! Skip this place and eat at Megeve instead.

As soon as we arrived they told us there was no places even though half the tables were unreserved and empty. Then they told us we could sit at a table but we only had 1 hour, which was fine, but as soon as we sat they came 6 times to ask if we had decided what we want...

Beautiful place, but... When we arrived at the restaurant they said they would have a table available in 15 minutes. We said we would return by then, but when we returned they had already seated others. After waiting a few more minutes they seated us, but never came back...
