Visited for lunch in November 2022 while staying in Banyuls. We walked the coast path from Banyuls (1h40 at leisurely pace) to the restaurant. Fantastic views. At this time of year the terrace facing the beach is not open and I would suggest reservations, although the dining room was only about ¼ full on the Saturday we were there. The menu at this time of year is the Menu de Noël with entrée plat dessert for 55 euro. This is fine dining so it is on the pricey side. Although not part of the menu, the chef was able to accommodate 2 out of 3 of us that were vegetarian. The menu choices included fish, oysters and even ostrich as an option for the main course. I had this because, why not it is unusual. A strong tasting red meat not unlike duck. All food was beautifully prepared and plated. See pics of the desserts! We of course enjoyed a couple of bottles of the wine. I should note that we have been there before and love the wine. We luckily had the last available bottle of the 2021 clos de Paulilles blanc, and then the Cap Bear. We then took the bus back to Banyuls: the 540 service has a stop about 10 minutes walk away. Note, the stop is only on one side of thee road but it serves both directions. Also you will not find the bus in google transit directions, google for the “lio Occitanie 540” timetable. I recommend their phone app as it will show you the exact map location of the stops. In this way, you can reach thé clos de Paulilles from any of the towns along the coast. Anyway, what a wonderful way to spend the day! Highly...
Read moreI am genuinely shocked by some of these negative reviews. My brother and I were driving from Perpignan to Girona (via the coast to enjoy views of the Mediterranean), when we happened upon this winery. They were hardly open for business, but we asked if we could taste some of their wines, which they graciously accepted.
Oh. My. Goodness.
The wines are fantastic. And why not? They were grown mere meters from the sun kissed beach of the Mediterranean.
It’s interesting to learn now that this establishment serves food - we had no idea at the time. But as I said, it was early in the day and they were not properly open except to allow two American tourists to day drink their fine wine.
I don’t know when I’ll ever be back in the area. It was an accident we stumbled upon them in the first place. However, if we are, I would certainly visit again. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, the wine was fantastic, the ocean views were mesmerizing, and the entire experience was...

We had a very unpleasant experience during our visit. We came for a wine tasting, hoping to discover something we’d enjoy, but unfortunately, we didn't like any of the wines offered. At no point were we informed that there would be a charge if we didn’t purchase anything. It was only at the end—after the tasting—that the host mentioned we had to pay because we weren't buying any bottles. This felt very dishonest and left us feeling pressured and uncomfortable.
The person conducting the tasting was extremely disagreeable and pushy, creating an unwelcoming and tense atmosphere. A wine tasting should be a pleasant and informative experience—not one where guests are made to feel guilty or forced into buying something.
I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine and enjoyable wine experience. Transparency, hospitality, and respect are key in this industry, and sadly, this place...
