Arrived at 12:30. Ignored by 3 servers for 10 mins. Then we were told by the Patron to move tables because as a couple were sat at a table for 4, even though there were only 3 chairs and 3 place settings! Managed to get menus and ordered wine, which arrived within 5 mins. We were ignored again as first a large group entered the premises for their lunch in a separate dining tent, then another large party went inside; we were outside. A spot or 2 of rain made our decision for us and inside we went, causing much consternation to the Patron. He had not employed enough staff for the day, maybe 4 serving staff with upwards of 150 diners, most of whom had reserved, so he had not planned his day at all well! He was running around like the proverbial blue-arsed fly, and actually started to refuse entry to people who had not made a reservation, unless he knew them... Eventually at around 13:15 we grabbed a server and ASKED FOR BREAD (in France, bread is normally thrown at you at every meal opportunity; you never have to ask for it) because we were ravenous. At 13:45 we got up to leave, and pay for our wine, when miraculously 2 dishes of food were produced!! We had ordered Fish of the Day which was a bland white fillet accompanied by some rice, salad and a small bowl of curry sauce, not the most appetising meal. We ate it and left, not wishing to waste more time or tastebuds on a dessert. Avoid this restaurant if you know what good service and...
Read moreGreat service from our waiter. Helpful and very patient. Had the Muscles Normandie and they were the best I'd ever had. Good choice of wines and had an excellent red Samur at a very reasonable price! Went back again two nights later, didn't realise it was Beaujolais Nouveau night and no available tables. The staff appeared very happy to see us again and equally genually sorry they couldn't accommodate us....
