Hôtel Restaurant l’Europe — Restaurant in Calvi

We flew from Munch to Bastia late in the evening so we needed a place to get started from. The ride from Bastia Airport to St. Florent isn't a problem so you can easily drive the 40 minutes up to St. Florent which is much nicer than staying the first night in Bastia ||St. Florent is a nice little village at the sea side and the Hotel L'Europe is just perfectly located at the port. In the morning, that was our plan, you can get a boat right in front of the hotel which brings you straight to saleccia beach, one of the nicest beaches in Corsica. Perfect. The beach was really nice, but you have to go early and later on our round trip we saw even nicer beaches, though ||The hotel Europe is quite basic, the rooms are ok and clean. The staff is very friendly and speaks also english for those like us, who aren't that fluent in french, unfortunately.||We needed the hotel for the 1st night only and that was it. Only one night is reasonably ok, but more I wouldn't spend there.||The breakfast we bought in the restaurant downstairs which was ok and enjoyable with a view over the ships in the harbour||Free parking was...

We booked Hotel L’Europe as it looked like a nice little hotel in the port. The description said our room was with a view and every picture in the selected room area showed a room with a port view. What we got instead was a room with a street view looking directly on the building in front - no view whatsoever, Not to mention the room lacked character and is very simple for the high price. We decided to speak to the hotel about feeling deceived from the room description and photos. The lady in charge got very defensive and said booking was completely incharge of that and they had nothing to do with it and held no responsibility on the matter. They said the photos were not chosen by them nor the description and everything was out of their hands; what we got was what we got period and she insisted again and again there was nothing they could or would do. Upon further expressing our low satisfaction she suggested we simply leave!!! Wonderful customer service if I’ve ever seen it....yuck! We do not recommend in any way this hotel. Avoid at all costs.
