We were having some drinks before dinner at Cote Terrasse when my 8 year old son cut his hand on a shard of glass which was embedded in the wicker chair where he was sitting.
A screaming and bleeding child are not a great way to kick off dinner, but that is not why we are so dissatisfied. When the proprietor came over his first response was, “no problem”. When my wife asked him (politely) why he had not apologised, he stated that it was not his responsibility. Having established that he ran the restaurant, I asked him (again, politely) why he would not apologise. He simply repeated that it was, ”no problem”. I pointed out that it was a problem - my son was still bleeding - and following a fairly lengthy discussion during which he point blank refused to either say sorry, express any concern for our child or the state of his furniture, we paid for our drinks and left.
I cannot honestly remember anyone in any circumstance failing to show such basic common courtesy, or care. All the man needed to do to defuse the situation was acknowledge that they had missed something when cleaning and apologise. While our waitress was more kind and got us a plaster, it really doesn’t compensate for the manager’s behaviour.

Read moreSuperb, imaginative food at very reasonable rates. The staff here were welcoming, friendly and efficient. The service was fluid but not hurried meaning that spaces were available but you could linger if you liked. The terrasse was well shaded but no view when sested. An electric mosquito repellant was wotking well and my little dog was welcomed. The food, was stand out good. My husband had the burger (not unusual) and reportedly delicious. My chef's salad was superb: marinaded beef, salmon in citrus, brochette of prawns, tapenade on toast, fresh, garlicy gazpacho and a chevre panna cotta with a slick of pesto on top. All on a bed of well-dressed leaves and beetroot. Truly delicious. Dessert comes included and had several options, ice-cream and cheese. The peaches were so refreshing in a light syrup, fragranced with verbena. The chocolatd fondant oozed as if should. That, a demi-piche of a good rosé and two coffees for less than €60 represents excellent value, as well. We...
Read moreMy friend and I enjoyed a great lunch on the terrasse on a windy beautiful spring day. (Our server offered to lend us a warm shawl if we felt cold). We both had the tagliatelle with a glass of dry cold white wine from the area, followed by crème brulée and tarte citron. To me the highlight of the experience was our excellent server, Éthan, who was new on the job but extremely good. He indulged me with my French though his English was great. Highly recommend this restaurant for the view of the valley from the terrace, the good food and excellent...
