Brasserie Du Bout Du Monde — Restaurant in Châteaulin

Terrific boutique brewery in Terenez. Very easy to miss diving past as the tasting room /shop is fairly nondescript. Take the tour though, 4.80 euros, & you get to see the former munitions tunnel that's been converted, & taste some beer at the end. Can't take any photos inside the brewery (except for the cool security door). Anyway, most important is the beer, & it's great. They're doing some really interesting things including a beer aged in Bordeaux red wine Oak barrels that's delicious. We were staying nearby & visited a could of times. Tour is in English as well as French of course. Probably best to book ahead, I think they are open from 1pm to...

An awesome brew pub.

The beers are excellent first and foremost.

There are also soft drinks made by the brewer.

The building is really nicely made with windows through from the bar to the brewery.

You can also buy the beer bottled and to my delight there's a deposit on the bottles so you can take them back.

In fact there are posters up about zero "dechets" (things thrown away) initiatives for gardening and living in general.

Tentative de visite le jeudi 31 octobre. La boutique de la brasserie est notée ouverte jusqu'à 20.00h sur l'appli des pages jaunes. Nous sommes une petite famille de cinq amateurs de bière qui décide de faire un grand détour entre Brest et sa maison pour s'arrêter faire un stock et pourquoi pas goûter quelque chose. Arrivée 16.15h, la boutique est illuminée et la porte est ouverte. Pas le temps d'entrer, le type derrière le comptoir, face à deux autre types, répond à mon "bonjour" par "Ah mais là, c'est fermé... Mais revenez samedi ça sera ouvert." J'explique qu'on vient d'assez loin et qu'on ne reviendra pas exprès du pays bigouden une deuxième fois dans la semaine... Ca n'a pas l'air d'émouvoir le barbu qui entreprend de m'expliquer où je peux acheter de la bière en Pays Bigouden... Ce à quoi je donne la liste des brasserie que je fréquente là-bas, et au revoir. Conclusion je ne suis pas près de remontrer ma face à Térénez, et encore moins d'honorer ces gens de ma clientèle, pour une bière qui de toutes façons, est assez moyenne...

Heureusement qu'il y a des artisans sympas ailleurs...
