The hotel came to my attention as it was so close to the Musee Charmetttes, one of the historical spot I liked to visit during my stay in Chambery last summer. ||Some friends advised me to consider other hotels as this one was not in the centre of the city and it was not that accessible by public transit. Almost wanted to cancel the reservation but happy that I didn’t. ||This hidden gem was located on the hill surrounded by a green area, about 1km away from downtown of Chambery. Only 9 rooms yet nicely furnished and thoughtfully decorated. We got a room up stairs with garden view, standard size; very clean and bright with natural light from the garden. A homely feel with modern design mixed with little classic charm. Loved the colour coordination which was creamy white and purple with some silver touch…The bathroom with shower was small but spotless ! ||The whole area of the hotel property was very quiet and relaxed. We arrived early afternoon, checked in and went to visit the Maison de jean Jacques Rousseau before returned to the hotel for dinner. The small Musee was just about 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel, a perfect way to spend the afternoon time. We basically stayed at the herb garden besides Rousseau's house.||The award winning restaurant of this hotel seemed to be a highlight for people who pay visit to this unique location. Good food, attentive service, elegant and romantic ambiance…. We were happy to make our reservation and enjoyed a great evening with a lovely fish dinner here. Price was delightfully reasonable.||Breakfast was good, nothing fancy but healthy items. The hotel owner and staff were friendly and helpful. ||This place made my trip to Chambery unforgettable. Highly recommended.||||Note: Hotel provide free parking, but you better inform the owner that you need to...
Read moreWe stayed on a Saturday night on our way back to UK from Italy . A little treasure of a hotel hidden away above Chambery and a short walk from the house - now a museum - in which Jean-Jacques Rousseau lived. Everything you need in the rooms with tea making facilities, TV, WiFi and a good shower. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly - and all spoke good English. We had dinner at the hotel - but especially on a Saturday night you would be wise to book. Although there were only three couples staying at the hotel the restaurant was packed out with locals. The menu was a little limited but the food was excellent . Good walks beyond the Rousseau museum, or if you would prefer you can wander around the centre if the old town. A percent place to break your journey or to dally a little longer and see the sights in this picturesque...
