First of all - the food was wonderful. We had the shorter chefs tasting menu (2 appetizers, one main, dessert) and each dish was delicious and surprising. The lamb and buckwheat dish was a huge hit. We went with the wine pairing and were positively surprised when we were asked if we wanted to try an Alsatian-only pairing (as opposed to one with international wines). Since we were in the region to discover the local wines, we were super happy with that.
I think what made the whole thing even more special was the service. The two gentlemen running the show tonight were both so friendly, kind and helpful, even though the place was pretty much packed. You can tell they love hosting, at least we felt very well looked after. We were dining with our 11 month old baby and not once did we feel like we were a nuisance. For parents - even though they don’t have high chairs, they have a baby chair that goes on top of a regular chair, which our baby loved even though she’d never been in one before.

Read moreNice little restaurant with only a few tables inside. Highly recommend reserving a table in advance. The menu was not extensive, which was not a problem at all. What‘s not so great is that none of the main courses was vegetarian. Also, the kid‘s menu being beef filet with vegetables was not a hit with the kids at all. One thing that bothered us was that our table was placed right next to the toilets and every now and then we were greeted by a not so nice smell. Something they could easily do about this is placing a heavier curtain in front of...
Read moreSo this was a tip from a local friend and i'd call it our best lunch in one week of Alsace. The dishes were creative, super tasty, beautiful. Rather simple interior - which is meant as a compliment because the accent is more on the quality of the products and the staff (just as it should be in the best case). A small range of meals and wines, but we didn't miss a thing. With a little more time in the Alsace we would've gone there a second...
