I would like to share my experience at a restaurant that boasts a Michelin star, but unfortunately, it fell far short of my expectations. Despite the restaurant's attempt to create an ambiance with flowers and plants, the taste and quality of the food were disappointing, and the prices did not align with the overall experience.
I opted for a six-course meal with a beverage, and to my disbelief, it cost me over 130 euros for just one person. The appetizers consisted of dried vegetables, including dried tomatoes and dried radishes, which was quite unbelievable. The main course was equally underwhelming, with only three pieces of dried fish accompanied by grilled eggplant, and two slices of pork neck with vegetables. The dessert was a mere apple pie and tart rhubarb ice cream. To add to the disappointment, they even had the audacity to ask guests to guess the type of fish after eating the dried fish! I came to enjoy a meal, not to participate in a guessing game.
The service staff continuously asked if I wanted any surprises! They tried to upsell a cheese platter and handcrafted coffee, but at an additional cost. It was nothing more than a disguised sales tactic! They also offered some small snacks to distract attention, but they were neither tasty nor worth the price. To top it off, they charged a staggering 5 euros for a pot of tab water, which felt like exploitation.
Throughout the evening, the performance of the service staff felt artificial and insincere, resembling a theatrical act. This entire experience left me feeling deeply disappointed.
I hope this review will bring attention to the restaurant and encourage them to improve their service. I would suggest that they focus on menu enhancement, improving the quality of ingredients, and providing better training for the staff.
Once again, I want to emphasize that this restaurant experience was far from satisfying, and it did not live up to the Michelin star reputation. I hope my feedback will serve as a cautionary note for others considering this...
Read moreI visited L’Alchémille drawn by their beautiful concept of sustainable, garden-to-table cuisine. The ambience was thoughtfully crafted — minimalist, elegant, and deeply connected to nature through soft design touches and natural soundscapes. I appreciated the small gesture of inviting guests to pick and taste plants upon arrival, though without much explanation, it felt more like a decorative idea than a real sensory experience.
The food was carefully prepared but overall not as inspiring as I had hoped. Many dishes leaned heavily into green tones and similar presentations, which, while consistent with their garden theme, left me wishing for more diversity and vibrancy on the plate. Highlights included a rich, buttery smashed potato that was technically flawless, and a tender snail dish that showed skill, even if the pairing with fish felt slightly disconnected. The herbal drink offered at the end was a nice touch, but for me personally, it echoed familiar southern Chinese herbal teas rather than feeling new or surprising.
Two service mistakes stood out: a piece of fish bone found in one dish and cork remnants in a glass of red wine. Although staff corrected them quickly, the handling could have been more attentive given the level the restaurant aims for.
The wine pairings, however, were excellent — well-chosen from the region and enhancing the overall meal. The restaurant is also dog-friendly, which added a warm and welcoming touch to the evening.
All in all, it was a pleasant night shared with friends in a beautiful setting. However, the culinary experience, while solid, felt somewhat overrated for the price and reputation. Still, I appreciate the restaurant’s commitment to sustainability and their vision, and with a few refinements, the experience could become something...
Read moreDinner, fixed manu of 7 courses with wine pairing ( 65 euro for food and another 50 (!!!!!) for 4 minuscule wine glasses ) Oh....Where to start? I know! I’ll begin with the good stuff like my mother thought me: Great exterior/enterior design , good service, beautiful dishes and excellent instagram moments. Now the bad stuff: THE FOOD and it’s over priced paired wines. Two great starters and then it all went down hill: deer tartar - no flavour , no seasoning, not interesting. Then a fish dish that could be amazing with a bit seasoning, some more cooking of the fish and balancing the weird green sauce under it. Main course was pigeon breast and wing that looked like it’s about to poke us in the eye. The combination of protein and vegetables were just offensive to the pallet. Two dessert dishes that just made us all cry. Sad cucumber icecream with pollen on top. Why??? Why waste produce??? Why be so creative that the flavours are just not right, textures are inedible and not pleasant?? The last dessert was ice creams of sour verbena and crackers made with some strange flavours of “local flours” so bizarre . And then they changed us 12 euro per person for water. Forget it. We will not come back, had much better experiences in other Michelin rated restaurants...
