I booked online for 7pm for 3 people and they asked if I could change it to 7.30pm as they had a party of 15 in at 7pm which of course I didn't mind so they said they would offer us something. I told them we was celebrating 2 birthdays so they said they would do a birthday surprise with indian music which was great. We got there and they had not written my booking in the book so said I didn't have a reservation so I had to show the messages on my phone confirming my booking. They had another booking for 4 people at 7.45pm so we helped them move the tables around to accommodate. They took our drink orders before the taking the drink orders for the booking of 4 but they served the table of 4 thier drinks and we didn't get ours. The table of 4 even got free poppadoms served to them before we even got our drinks and we only got our drinks cos I had to ask for them. I had asked online beforehand if they did a mix starter as it wasn't on the menu and was told they can do a mixed a starter of samosa, onion bhaji, potato beignets and poulet tandoori but when we got our starters there was no chicken tandoori on it even though we had asked for it and all the starters were all cold and the onion bhajis were overheated to the point of been burnt. I found a black moustache hair on my plate after eating my starter so had to ask for a clean plate and they didn't even apologize. The mains & sides were all cold albeit 1 and the poulet in the poulet tikka masala was so dry it was hard to chew & swallow even with the sauce. We never got the birthday surprise or the offer and we was overcharged when we paid the bill. I complained online when I got home and they acknowledged all the issues with my reservation, the service delays, the food quality, the missed birthday special and the overcharge. They said they were truly sorry for our experience and deeply regret the inconvenience caused and said we can go back to the restaurant (80km round trip) to collect the refund of the overcharge. They couldn't calculate the overcharge as didn't know the cost of the starters so offered 20€ They rated...
Read moreFood was gorgeous service was fair but it was a lot for one waitress. Poor woman was run ragged. It was full there and she was serving food and getting drinks for everyone. She apologised that there was no beer on tap, just bottled, and very little choice in the way of spirits. She said I can promise you great food but the bar is not so good yet. We didn't have to wait too long for our starters. Well presented and hot. But they made a mistake with the bhajis. All brought out on 1 large platter and 6 missing. So one person only had 2 instead of 4, another had none. She had to sit and wait a good ten minutes for more to be brought out. Then two bowls of rice with peas missed off the mains. So those people were sat another ten minutes waiting, while their curries went almost cold. My buttered chicken wasn't as hot as I'd have liked but ok. It was certainly delicious.. Main meals come with a free naan bread which was huge! Lots of that Ieft over We were served 3 free large poppadoms between 9 people at the start, with dips. It wasn't enough between us so I asked for more, said we'd pay. I don't think we were charged. We paid just under 50€ for 2 starters, 2 mains with plain rice and a naan, 2 bottles lager and a 25cl carafe of wine. We'd go again but would hope that they'd have someone else helping to serve/ work the bar. It spoiled it for me to be eating while others in our party were still waiting for food. Atmosphere wise, it was ok..Piped Indian music ( a bit loud at times). It was quite cool in there, with a bench in front of the radiator stopping the heating getting into the room. The decor was stark white. Ok, but not a typical Indian restaurant vibe. Overall, We enjoyed the evening. Excellent food ( though some not as warm as it could've been), really friendly service. They do need an extra pair of hands...
Read moreWe heard about this place while we were in town & thought we'd give it a try. Both of us are Very Experienced in Indian cooking. We were Not disappointed at all with Food, It Was Beautiful. I can eat as Hot as it gets & i asked for their hottest dish & i chose the Lamb Devel & the wife chose Lamb Madras. The Food tasted so good that it didn't matter that it could've been hotter. We were Very Happy with what the chef had created & told him so when he popped his head out of the kitchen door to ask. At the time we were the only 2 in there because it was very early evening, but it soon filled up. The girl who welcomed us & served us was Very friendly on arrival & extremely hard working as she took care of everything front of house. We had 2 Currys, a shared rice, Garlic Naan & a carafe of Red Wine for around 45€. If we're ever back in the town we'd...
