At first we were really pleased that a restaurant like this has opened in Veules where there is a real need for gastronomy of this sort. The ambiance is delightful and the staff friendly. That said, we were at the end somewhat disappointed. All started well with beignets de Fromage which were tasty. One entree of jarret de veau with pied de porc was delicious, the carrot soup also but the portion was small. There are only three main courses to choose from, one fish, one meat and one vegetarian ,which is basically a good thing if they appeal. On this occasion the fish was a local shark which was very tasty in a caper sauce but might well not appeal to everyone. The selle d‘agneau was unfortunately a disaster as the relationship of meat to fat was around 25% to 75% and so the amount you could eat was very small for a price of 24€. This was unfortunately not bad luck as we later found out from friends of ours who had ordered it two days earlier that they had had just the same experience. The dessert was then delicious, roast figs on brioche, which somewhat made up for the main course! As we had drunk no wine, only beer, we felt that 110€ was a bit much for two for what was offered. The concept of the restaurant is however very good and maybe with another menu we would have had a...

An extremely slim menu offer 1 meat, 1 fish, and 1 vegetarian option for the starter and main dish.
We didn’t understand why the starter tasted asian when the rest of the offer did not go with that direction. Nor did we understand how they could only offer steak tartare as the singular meat option for the main dish.

Read moreExcellent food; nice little restaurant in a quaint little town. Very creative and original rendition of a Caesar salad; the Beef Tataki was very tender; and the Risotto was made with barley, not rice, and was outstanding. The sorbet was an excellent and delicious palate cleanser, served with local liqueurs that complemented the flavors. Our waitress was very attentive (and bilingual!) and extraordinarily helpful. Would return...
